I know some of you love handbags, but have you ever walked through a shop, holding a conversation and got distracted by the handbag stand.Cos I did, and my mate won't let me live it down...I even went "Oooh, handbags" (they were 15 euros too - this was in finland - and I got a lovely soft buttery yellow one)
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Ooh, I love the period coming up to New Year - we're all so keen :rotfl:

I think I failed at the £100 challenge last year, but must have been no more than £120 all year, so think I did quite well really :A

Can you put me down for £100 again please for personal clothes? I am now going to have to find a pair of decent jeans in the sales before January 1st :D

    *holds hand up*

DD even does this great imitation of me going "ooooh bags" & says I just wander off transfixed :o I keep telling her that you can never have too many bags or shoes but she just rolls her eyes & say "ok you've told me that before, but most people dont name their bags too ... " Really :confused:I just assumed that everyone did :shhh:

Lula, my favourite bag has a name so tell DD you're not alone in the lunatic asylum!!!! I can wander around bag shops/areas in department stores for ages and can often be found gazing (drooling) into the window of a very expensive bag shop near to where I live ..........

  • count me in on the challenge - but mine will include ALL clothing! Thankfully I work in retail and have access to sample sales so will only by what is needed (if anything) on sale... I would include my other half and my two boys but while I have sorted out my wedding dress (making it) I have not bought their stuff yet so here is my challenge to myself:

£400 for the whole family (excluding shoes, 6th form suits & wedding gear for future hubby and 2 teenage sons!)

Tip for anyone - I have loads of M&S clothing and I only recycle at Oxfam as I get a £5 off voucher everytime... if I know I need to buy something I use the donate that month and use the £5! I also scour charity shops for handbags - you will be surprised what you can pick up for under £5!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

wit40iwtwan ~ Not quite understanding you ~ Do Oxfam give out £5 vouchers for M&S if you donate to them?
  • Re: Tights = M and S are amazing! expensive but last years!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Count me in please.

I don't post much (or at all) but am determined to take up challenges and stick to them, and get over the shyness and post

As a stay at home mum (for now) £100 is more than enough, my 2 girls (1 & 3) will have a combined budget of £300 (this will include everything, underwear, party dresses etc)

I'm looking forward to this challenge
Stop trying to keep up with the Jones, as they're trying to keep up with the Smith's
  • Think I need to join this one too. £100 will be doable if I put my mind to it and lose a few pounds too!! Have got 2 pairs of jeans upstairs that I can't get into - and I can't keep calling it baby weight as she was one last week:rotfl::rotfl:!!! Have got a couple of weddings next year, but again if I lose a few pounds I've got several perfectly good (a couple still with tags on!:o) outfits in my wardrobe! So count me in!!
    20K by Xmas 2010 (10 in 10 challenge - debt):
    Debt: £799.21/£10500
    Savings: £0 / £9500
