Wondering if investing in a more expensive one would be better, anyone bought a fab dress recently? I love wearing winter boots(I have 9 pairs)
Not fair, that's more than me... although as I know you from Shoe Gals diary then it's not really that surprising I suppose :rotfl:
Not sure about dresses, I have the most ridiculous sized chest for my size so can end up looking pregnant if not careful, my fave one is a gorgeous black & cream one with silver swirls on it by Lipsy, but it's a bit dressy to wear everyday ...
I have The Body Bible (Trinny & Susannah) & this has helped me to choose clothes that suit my shape rather than just buying what I like the look of.
My plan is to just get slim again so can then wear just about anything with confidence :j(& a pair of boots)

my vice is shopping for pleasure...I've got t-shirts and jeans in the two sizes I bounce between so I should be sorted for the year, if I can just stop going 'ooh, Dorothy Perkins...wonder if they've got anything nice?'!

Can I join too?
I want to aim for £150 though, as from tomorrow bought a much wanted boyfriend cardi and t-shirt today and don't to count those.
I have way to many pairs od jean I still haven't worn and dresses for going I've probably wore 3 times at the most.
Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:0 -
Could I join please. I going to aim for £150 for non-work clothes.0

phew - just checking that shoes aren't included as I just bought a pair of Merrells in the sales without thinking. Isn't it strange that I don't blink when I buy shoes yet dither for ages on tops / trousers etc??
Anyway - just returned my Christmas present from hubby to M&S so now have a lovely credit voucher for £75.00 - that should keep me going for a while. I don't have to include the spend on that do I?0 -
Hello all other mad people! The more I think about this challenge the more I realise every year I get crazier!! I told my mum and instead of sympathy she said 'I think you could do that easily, I knwo people who don't spend any money on clothes!' May I add that that does not include her she is as bad as me!! My little sister was appalled though, although she is only 19 and the thought of not buying all the clothes you want is too scary for her.
I did have some amazing news yesterday though - I am pregnant again. Our darling little DS is two so will be almost three when the new little bubba comes along - so so so excited, but am thinking I need to find ways to make my clothes stretch now to accomodate my bump when it arrives. Has anybody tried the things you attach to your own jeans at the waist to make them last longer. I'm a size 6 mostly but last time I put on 4 stone:eek: so none of my 'normal' clothes fitted - this challenge is going to make me more aware of the old 'eating for two' excuse me thinks!!
Anyway hope you all have a fab NYE and here's to a frugally successful 2010 x0 -

Congratulations on your news! I love babies
I used the jeans thing for a while, its good while you're still quite small... the only thing I found was making sure that you wear a long enough top, as I did flash my knickers quite a bit to begin with!! I also got a couple of 'bump bands', one black and one white, which meant I didn't have to buy many maternity tops.... In fact, I think I only bought four tops (one for going out, a long sleeve, 3/4 sleeve and a vest) and three pairs of trousers (two jeans and one black trousers), all from Dorothy Perkins in the sale
