Totally agree ColleenPamela, this will be scary.
Can I join too please Lula?
Me = £100 for myself and
DD1 = £100
DD2 = £100 - doubt that DD2 will need it as have a house full of DD1 clothes, and best friend (Next shopping addict thankfully) is fantastic at letting me have her daughters clothes. would be lost without her.
TBH I have a wardrobe full of clothes (none of which fit as have put so much weight on). This will be a real incentive to stop bingeing and get exercising so that I can fit into them!!!
Good luck everyone. xx0 -
Yay, i'll sign up for £100...fainting at the thought!0

Hey everyone
Someone was on about the 'ooh bags' moment in the dept stores and I completely agree with that one. I went to Harvey Nicks in London with a friend a while back and we came upon the Lulu Guiness stand and our squealing brought us to the attention of the security guard. I think the whole shop floor could hear us(but they were super fabulous bags)
Can totally second M&S tights, they may be pricey but they wash well and last for ages and they come in many fabby styles and colours.
I've been on about doing sewing and crafting and what not for ages and so for Xmas got two books - Yeah, I made it myself - a kind of easy-dressmaking / knitting book and Sew! by Cath Kidston.
The Yeah! book has some cool ideas for making clothes and I have got plenty of old things that could do with a new life - I have tons of old jeans and I'm sure I could make them into a denim skirt for summer
The Sew! book came with the material (fab blue Cath Kidston floral print) to make a shoulder bag so can make my own fab handbag for free!!! :T:T
So these will be my first contributions to my clothes challenge.....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills :eek:
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Aaaaaaaah Lulu Guinness bags :heartpuls
Thanks makeup, for your brilliant first contribution towards the clothes challenge :T
As to those who have already spent & declared, I would just like to point out that this is the 2010 Clothes Challenge, so any purchases made before 1st January do not count.
Welcome aboard to :
Hollypolly, Shrimpy_80, Mariel, dobs, TeetersOnHeels, mumofjusttwo, purple_angel, raven_33, Miss_cosmo, SarahNeedle1872 :hello:, ColleenPamela, toshvado & Teabythesea
Yes dobs, it does say on the first page that you can increase your allowance by selling unwanted clothes.
However, I started this challenge last year to help me spend LESS on clothes so that I could pay MORE off the debts & that is still my main motivation for doing this challenge. I would therefore recommend that anyone with debts who makes money be selling clothes, actually uses that spare money to pay more off the debt.
You know it makes sense0 -

Hi all, can I join please? We are having a low spend couple of years leading up to my husbands retirement (6th July 2011. 3.55 pm - not that he's counting or anything!!) hubby is a teacher and is retiring in July but won't get his pension till he is 60 in the December so we need to cover those months!! Never really counted how much I spend on clothes so this will be a bit of an eye opener!! As a 55 year old SAHM (still on maternity leave!) I am very low maintenance.Slightly bitter0

Just need to make a little (almost) confession...I know 2010 hasn't started yet but I nearly spent £209 (that I don't have) on a pair of MBT boots today when I realised that was a) ridiculous and b) more than the budget for this whole challenge!
So glad I managed to put the credit card away and not buy them...progress at last!
Make up, I got some sewing books for Christmas as well so must go and actually have a look at them!Current Debt: Loan = 3133.13 C/C = 1600.00
Overdraft = 500.00
Challenges: Jan Grocery Challenge = 45.96/80Crazy £100 clothes challenge = 0/100Jan NSDs = 6/15 100 day challenge=no books, mags, toiletries or knitting stuff!
Trying to make a success of being self-employed and a full-time student...without getting into any more debt!:p0
