my daughter tried accessing her student finance but found her details werent working...she asked for a password hint but then couldnt remember what shed put...so, she phoned for a new alias and password so she can get application sorted....
why they couldnt just do this via email i dont know - were still waiting for this 5 days later...im just wondering how long its going to take and will it hold her back if she doesnt get her application in asap as advised....she will be in her second year at uni and nothing has changed in her circumstances....
thanks0 -
They actually want to know academic year 10/11 - which makes the question even more confusing! Just make an educated guess - that is the best you can do. I've never heard of anyone being asked to prove their unearned income. On the student finanace application form it asks for details of the student's unearned and earned income. Is this for tax year 2010/2011? If so, are we supposed to guess? I've had a look at the help next to the question and it doesn't say.
They don't want to know about earned income unless your employer is releasing you for study.
Are you completing your son/daughter's application for them?0 -

My friends took a week. Get your daughter to write the info down somewhere safe in the future. The number of people who don't bother is beyond belief.0 -
she actually did but things go missing you know.....not sure i like your tone....but thanks for the info0

Hi! No I'm not filling in the form for them but keep getting asked for passports, NI cards and the answers to stupid questions (like this one about income for a year that hasn't arrived yet!)
I daresay there will be even more fun when I fill in my income forms - hope they're straightforward!
Do I have to fill in my income details on my user id and then my husband fill in his on his user id or does my id allow me to fill in the info for both of us? It's just that I know it will take him ages to do it. Presumably the alias id he gets sent for our son will be the same one as I get?0 -
I actually seen the title of this and it made me laugh! I applied last June for 2009/10 and I am still waiting!!!LuV_oR_h8_Me

You need an account each but the alias ID for your son will be the same on both.0 -
My application status is: Assessed and has been since the day after my husband and myself filled in the relevant bits. As the status of 09/10 application is Approved, I wondered if it changed once I'd signed and had the contract processed or that Approved was a stage between Assessed and sending the contract to be signed?0

It becomes "Assessed" after they've processed the application. Then later it becomes something along the lines of "Assessed - Awaiting signature" and a signature form is sent to you. When that is received and processed, it changed to "Approved".My application status is: Assessed and has been since the day after my husband and myself filled in the relevant bits. They seem to have changed the statues around - or there is a bug (which wouldn't surprise me).
It seems as soon as the application is completed (and anyone supporting the application has done their bits) it changes to Assessed. It used to change to Awaiting Assessment. It seems it now goes to Assessed - Awaiting Signature when it is actually assessed.0
