Just looked, and we've had 20 online applications as of this moment in time. We have a few paper ones waiting to be put on.

As with all years for us as an LA, we wait about a week before processing any. This is in order for any bugs in the system, and there usually is, to become known.

Did mine this evening, then phoned and asked why they hadn't sorted my grant and loan reassessment yet. Had the hold, then got told it's being done tomorrow, and if there's any problems they're going to phone me. Definite sign of not much to do!
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

  • Stupid question i know but

If my son is going to be 18 and at university, works part time and still lives at home, is he still a dependant.

Im a mature student doing my finance form and i cant work out whether he will be a dependant or not as he will be applying for a loan for himself.
  • Its ok ive found it

Nope, just a simple basic, non means tested. Damn mother for getting remarried eh.
  • On the student finanace application form it asks for details of the student's unearned and earned income. Is this for tax year 2010/2011? If so, are we supposed to guess? I've had a look at the help next to the question and it doesn't say.
  • My children currently get EMA. I thought this came with a guarantee that if they received the max amount they would get a full maintenance grant, or is that history now?

Estimate. It says if they have earned or unearned, just put yes. Then it asks you for unearned income, which you just enter income such as bank interest. You can put £0 in that.

As for your second post, EMA doesn't gaurentee anything.
