Boddy - that's so lovely that you've sorted the necklace for your mum. It's obviously made her really happy. Big hugs to you xx

Evening ladies!!:hello:
I would have typed this 20 minutes ago but valli sidetracked me onto the Norad site, and DS2 had to help me light up a Christmas tree!! (I'm so useless at games).
lil_me - hun, Christmas isn't made by how much money you've spent, you know that. Your boys will be thrilled with the presents that they have, and be able to appreciate them all the more. Huge hugs to you. Bet you this is the Christmas you will all remember. My best remembered present was a small teenage doll, and the wardrobe of clothes Mum had spent hours knitting and sewing.
This is probably the first year that all three teens have spent all their own money on their Christmas shopping rather than me giving it to them, and I am extremely proud at how well they have planned and budgeted. DD is addicted to the Christmas and Special Occasions thread, has stitched several cards for special friends, made up hampers etc. DS2 was persuaded by her to make 'DVD night in' hampers for two girl friends (not 'girlfriends';)) which went down extremely well.
pigpen - I'm really sorry to hear that. Last week, one of DD's friends lost a friend in a car crash - 19 years old, lovely girl. She swerved to avoid a duck, and hit a tree. I've been feeling really upset by it.
juliejim- fabulous - well done!
mudbath - my sort of devious!:D I now offer OH the choice of doing it himself or paying for someone to do it, but within a set time...
I've been doing some more shopping this afternoon, just the last few bits to do tomorrow morning after I drop DD into work.

My mum always makes the rum sauce on Christmas Eve and then we heat it up on Christmas Day. You just have to make sure you only reheat the amount you need because you can't reheat it a second time xx0
