Pigpen ~ So sorry to hear the news about your friend, sending my good thoughts and prayers to their friends and families.
Me too Pigpen, puts a lot of things in perspective.Keep meaning to add my congratulations to JASSA for the debt free status you now enjoy!
From what you've said you kept it quiet but have you any key 'dos and dont's' to divulge?
Meant to say congrats yesterday and forgot! Well done:j
Hugs to anyone else who needs them.
It is LO's last day at school today, finishes at 12 so i'm enjoying the peace and quiet:D Will get on with the tidying in a minute. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Anyone for HHC 9:30 - 10:00
Penny. x). I'm sure the main roads will be fine if he waits for the idiots who think going to work/present shopping is essential to finish being silly (besides, he's from the north, he'll know how to drive in snow!).
WD40 really is a wonder fluid!
Seems the fan had seized up so a couple of squirts of the magic liquid and I have a boiler that's working again. There is heat coming through the rads again though it'll take a while for the house to warm up. The sunshine burning through the fog will help though.
I'm a bit pessimistic though - I did a quick google on seized up fans and it seems the initial sieze up will mean a seize up again because it's getting old. But, as long as it gets us through Chrismas and Boxing Day I'll be happy.
I SHOULD go into work, but I really can't be bothered. My desk was clear when I left yesterday and all the students have gone back to Mummy and Daddy's for Christmas so I'll just not bother. (I told them yesterday, whether or not I came in depended on what time the BG engineer came so I'll just lie tomorrow then wash my mouth out with soap when I get home).
Right, celebratory fry up breakfast is called for I believe.
Glad it's sorted soappie! I hope you have instructions for a DIY fix if it goes again before the bank holiday is over. Did they tell you whether the fan can be replaced or is it a new boiler job? And think about looking into the immersion back-up option.
OK... breakfast eaten, urgent query out of my area of expertise has arrived from work, so need to wait for one of my colleagues (who is technically on leave but working today) to get up in a couple of hours so I can agree a response.
Think I'd better get dressed and do outside stuff first...0 -
WM x 3; 1 and two have been tumbled and 3 is in there now. Bin moved into direct line of sun in hope that it absorbd enough energy to warm up and thaw then I can open it and put the rubbish in...there is one small bag of rubbish in there ATM and I expect, with a bit of effort I can find two more! All cardboard going in green bin for which collection will resume in Feb; by which time it will be full.
BTW some of my tumbled washing won't need ironing! Go me!

Pigpen - so sad to hear about that crash. They were so young. Just looking at the number of comments on the page shows how popular they were. Really, really sad and my heart goes out to their families and friends xx0
