I'm with ya, on whoever said "it didn't happen in a day, so it'll take longer than a day to sort out". I'm quite happy that I'm 85% on top of the cleaning but I desperately need to declutter, so 2010 is going to be my year of declutter! (starting tomorrow). I find the idea of flylady really good, but I'm too disorganised and lose interest quickly I think her ideas of cleaning hotspots daily, dealing with the mail when it's delivered, 27 fling boogie etc are really good though.
I've devised an idea that I am going to try and rid the house of five items per day over the next year. This can be via the bin, giving stuff away to my friends or colleagues, or taking it to a charity shop, or recycling bin etc.. This is 1825 items per year, so hopefully I should be fairly clutter free by this time next year! Like I said though....I do get bored quickly....Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
Aw I have a tree!!! How lovely, thank you xxxGo hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

Soappie, jjef and Lady L thanks for asking yes i was at my DB's in fife - lots and lots of ice and about 8 inches of snow today when i left and much the same here.
had great time with the children although i ended up in bed on Chrstmas afternoon and had 2 hour nap!! they wear me out wanting to play or look at things or do this do that, come here can I show you this etc etc
Mother was her usual self -I had written a moan but have deleted it as i am going to try to be more tolerant of her and people that annoy me.
I was thoroughly spoilt with lovely presents - all useful and fun and ate very well. I need to count my blessings a bit more i think when you see whats going on in the world.
thanks soappie I am here but may miss the link so that would be great - it takes the pressure of a bit.

OK - I have joined the FLYLADY website so am looking forward to motivational emails
I have decided to go to bed an hour later tonight and make a start - I feel positive so I need to strike when the iron is hot.
Then I will set my alarm for tomorrow morning, get dressed to my shoes! and get started again. Having woken up to this evenings achievements (ie my tidy kitchen) then it will be easier to be motivated.
Tonight I will fill a rubbish bag before I go to bed0 -
AND......................
Thank you all so much for the encouraging words - its so easy to be embarrassed and ashamed of how it has become, so your supportive and understanding words are really helping me
Thank you x0
