Hi there, me and hubby once went to Morrisons about 2 in the afternoon on the 23rd December, never again!!! The queue was one end of the shop to the other end of the shop, and every till was open, all queues were as long as eachother, it was ridiculous, you would think the shop was closing down for a year!

So my advice would be, don't go in the afternoon.
  • My daughter and OH went to Morrisons yesterday afternoon and had to drive round the carpark for 20 minutes before they found a space. Then no big trollies left so they had to cram everything in a small trolly. Then they had to queue for an hour (!!!) at the checkouts. By the time they had loaded the car up there were three cars waiting to get in the spot they were vacating! Was I glad I had gone to Sainsbury's on Monday where it was all very quiet and civilised!! Is it this manic in other countries at Christmas or is it a British thing?

  • Its absolute madness...people this is one day of the year for crying out loud.

To see people loading up trolley after trolley with stuff they don't need, or in many cases even want, frustrates me no end. And the amount of money which is being wasted is just obscene, not just on food but the mounds of tat people are buying.
  • Feeling rather smug this year. Bought my meat last month from the farmer and froze it. My OH got me some stuff last weekend and I managed to get the rest all with good dates on Monday. Did forget a couple of items so braced Sainsburys today. Got there for 8am and was out for 8.30am it was so quite! Have the day at home to do finishing touches :-)

  • Strangely quiet for a Christmas Eve today (about 11am) at Asda... Got a space straight away, plenty of trolleys waiting at the entrance, good (maybe even very good) stock levels, generally quite a good visit considering what others have been through (especially on Wednesday)

  • our Asda had loads and loads of turkey crowns left and around 3 o'clock they were reducing them way down. I got a couple of really huge ones, that were originally priced at £31.80 and £28.50 respectively, for £4.99 each. :T
