Best Time to Hit ASDA on Xmas Week?

I need to do a shop in ASDA to keep me going until after Boxing Day. Bread, milk, eggs, bacon, beer sort of thing. Although I don't mind food shopping, I hate it with a passion when it's busy. I normally try and go for 10am on a Sunday.
I was thinking of going Tuesday or Wednesday this week. They're open from 8am till 10pm. What's my best option?
- Set my alarm and go at 8am
- Go at 9pm. Would they still have bread and milk at this time.
- Just go at a 'normal' time, it won't actually be that busy, honest!
Opinions please.
Thanks.

I usually go to a quieter supermarket - there is a large asda near me and a smaller one in the sticks, if you go to the smaller one although busier than usual its still ok (went 10am yesterday morning and it was fine, whereas in a nearby tesco you couldn't even get a parking space).
Worth a slightly longer drive - or try Waitrose or Co-op for this week only?
Unfortunately I have to brave tesco as I have a £5 off £50 voucher for this week I can't bear to lose. Have decided to go at 10pm tomorrow in hope its not too bad, hopefully they won't have sold out of basics like bread and milk. If they have will go to small asda following evening.

go for 8 am, it'll be busy-ish but they'll have the stuf you need and at 9pm it'll be risky, they mught have lots of leftovers but then again they might not!Nonny mouse and Proud!!
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!!

I go every year at 6a.m in the morning with eldest son usually 2 days before christmas ...Me and hubby used to take all the kids and it was a nightmare. So i leave them in bed now in the warm and go early...Last year we got everything fresh and the shelves were all full...lovely atmosphere as well as its not rammed full...Came back at 7.30 and made them all a nice english breakfast...:DBest Competition Wins-Brand New Vauxhall Corsa & £30000

We're going to Asda for a full shop as soon as they open tomorrow.
Definitely not going shopping on Tuesday as that's my bday and can't on Wednesday as that's OH's bday, and certainly not going on Christmas Eve lol!
I'd either go first thing or last thing, but don't expect the shelves to be full, last thing.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I'm going to Asda wed about 10am, and I hope its quiet. We have our meat ordered from local butcher tht oh will collect thurs. Just want a few bits and pieces.
I'm not one of those poor souls you see with a huge trolley packed full of shopping!

The supermarkets are expecting Wednesday to be the busiest day this week. So if you go on Wednesday i'd go fairly early pre 10amOne day you are the bird and the next you are the statue, but everyday you should try to do something you love0

but - if everyone goes before wednesday to beat the rush - wednesday itself could be pretty quiet!!0

If they are doing extended hours from normal then try and go in the extended hours as often not many people know about it.
When I worked in Sainsburys last year we stayed open until 10pm christmas week (normally shut at 8pm). We had about 3 proper customers over 2 days after 8pm, I don't think they could have even made back the staffing costs yet they are doing the same this year.0 -
There was an article in the MOS yesterday on this subject. They have worked out that the quietest times will be between 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Avoid Wednesday altogether. (Although I thought the latter would be common sense!)"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
