I have to drop my son off at preschool at 9 so won't be there until half 9. I hope it's not too mad as I'll have my 4 month old in the pushchair and I find people have no problems barging through yet get stroppy if they have to move 1 step forward so I can get through.

I only really want the toys anyway so am tempted to just get what I can online and not bother going to the store??

hahaha, try doing it with a double buggy and a 2 year old who is like houdini with the harnesses! :rotfl::rotfl:

Still, in the name of a bargain, i will be there! Just wish Mr B had more brins than to put the baby stuff on the top floor, can only just squeeze my buggy in the lift, don't know how I am going to get my shopping in their as well!

At least they try! My DH wouldn't go near a Boots sale no matter what I offered :rotfl:

Not sure I would want him too anyway....while pregnant I had to ask him to pick up the things for the roast I was cooking as I couldn't face it. I sent him a text with the list which included a swede, 4 parsnips......he only bought the swede as he thought i meant you make parsnips out of swede ooooooh dear! He still hasn't lived that down!

Think your OH went to the same Home Ec school mine did. On a holiday camp, asked OH to keep an eye on the roasting chicken while I went for a swim. Came back an hour later to find him cross legged in front of the oven :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:HONESTLY! :rotfl:

Yes, it's hideous. As were a lot of the people there last year. There were groups of people who went in with trolleys and blocked the aisles, so no one else could get down them. And they just piled stuff from the shelves into their trolleys. They didn't even seem to be looking for specific items. They just bought anything and everything.

I'd actually only gone in for a sandwich, but it was like the place was being looted.

The same thing happened at a store near me. I had got there nice and early, picked up afew things and into my basket.

Then 6 BIG women came flying through the door. 4 of them blocked off 2 long aisles while the other 2 went off to find some trollys.

The security guard had no chance, he was about 4ft and looked like Frank Spencer.

Thanks Stacy, thats really helpful and will save me a trip over to MK!!

Am now going to try and get Thursday off work to in case the sale is then, but I hope its Wednesday. Asked in a store today and they claimed not to know.

Where did the Wednesday/Thursday dates actually come from?

I had surmised that the sale would start the 13th or 14th based on when it started in past years. Then several people who said they were employees of Boots or knew employees of Boots came on and said it was the 13th. Then others with the same grapevine said it has been changed to the 14th. Which is to say, it will almost certainly be one of those two days, but there is no way to have 100% certainty. I'm leaning towards the 13th as more likely as more people have said that and because it is a Wednesday.

I would suggest that those who have to go to a lot of trouble to get to a Boots go an hour or two after opening if possible, because by then someone will have come on this site and reported whether or not they found items at 75% off in-store (some people have boots that open extra early, so they may report back not long after your local is open). Also, those who do stop into Boots early, make sure you get sale items price-checked if there are no 75% off signs as it's not unheard of for some stores to be a bit slow getting things marked (a couple of years ago some Bootsers made a killing by grabbing up tons of untouched items at 90% off because there were no signs up and some staff didn't even know they were further reduced -- but Bootsers knew because they read it online!)
  • Was in Boots Milton keynes yesterday and they still have lots of high value gift sets left. May have to make a trip there when 75% off starts.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the stock levels are like in Cannock, Walsall, Tamworth Ventura or The Fort at Birmingham? Was going to do a quick visit to the Cannock store this morning but the weather is horrid. Forecast more snow on Tuesday evening so probably won't make it anyway. TIA.
  • Online there's literally nothing left, and the boots stores i've been in in coventry have hardly anything - do you think they'll have more 'old' stock to put out in the sale, or have kept things from 2009 back for this? :(

  • I hope it is wednesday, I keep going to sleep and waking up thinking about the boots sale!

I'm planning on getting there for 8am, I'll be ready to fight the masses. I'm only small but I'll take one anyone who gets in the way of me and my no7!!

Having said that I expected a mad rush for the soap and glory hat box and I was the only person there!
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*

Oh god I didnt think it would be THAT bad! I will definately be ready and raring for a battle then hehe Im working tonight so think I will set off a little early so I can scope out whats in the trafford centre store, as I think thats where I will probably see the biggest crowd waiting because its a big central store and doesnt open till 10!

Those people that are going to stores early IE 6.30, would you be able to post on the forum as soon as you know whether the 75% sale is actually on. Saves people going out if it is actually on thurs. Altho Im hoping its weds as I have geared myself up for weds now!

My bf has just said I am obsessed with this forum and all I have talked about for the last 4 days is the boots sale forum hahaha

I worked up city for the boots xmas night team this year and when i was there, there was nothing we were literally filling the shelves with everything we had left and the warehouse was empty.
So unless they have recieved any deliveries with xmas stock or excess xmas stock from other stores, im doubtful.

Sorry just to clarify thats the central milton keynes store!

Just come back from the CMK Boots - they have LOADS of Elle bags (the £40 ones), No 7 £60 sets, and hundreds of Chilli Pepper bags (original price £35). Some £40 GokWan sets and a few bits of other things that I wasn't interested in. Maybe they have all the stock from the other stores in the area!
