Yes, it's hideous. As were a lot of the people there last year. There were groups of people who went in with trolleys and blocked the aisles, so no one else could get down them. And they just piled stuff from the shelves into their trolleys. They didn't even seem to be looking for specific items. They just bought anything and everything.
I'd actually only gone in for a sandwich, but it was like the place was being looted.0 -
I asked in-store in Lancaster on Saturday and the girl said that she wasn't supposed to tell me, but yes it starts on Wednesday..
Whether this has been changed since then I have no idea.0 -
Thanks peeps....Hopefully DHL will re-deliver it in the next day or so...I'm just glad I'm not the only one...:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

OOh I hope it starts on Wedneday. I was most disheartened to hear it might be Thursday as I don't work near a Boots.
Welcome to the forum BTW :hello:0 -
I only found out about it through MSE in 2008 & that year there were about 15 people outside the store. last year there were more like 50 & there was a fight by the S&G, also serious aisle blocking.
DH claims he is in training now as he is my 'front line' - I have to be in work and cannot get time off
(He tries very hard but does pick up some odd things:rolleyes:)
Could be thats mines related to your's:)0 -

Thank you
I've been lurking for ages (particularly on the GWYC bit) and thought it was about time I joined...
I really hope it is on Wed too as I can get down there nice and early. Here's hoping!0 -

At least they try! My DH wouldn't go near a Boots sale no matter what I offered :rotfl:
Not sure I would want him too anyway....while pregnant I had to ask him to pick up the things for the roast I was cooking as I couldn't face it. I sent him a text with the list which included a swede, 4 parsnips......he only bought the swede as he thought i meant you make parsnips out of swede ooooooh dear! He still hasn't lived that down!If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!0 -
Sorry to ask again, does anyone know what the stock levels are like in Slough? I havent been able to get to town for weeks!
Slough is usually quite pleasant, no pushing or shoving but both times I have got there around 10/11am.'They only had one cow!'0 -

The store we went to was in a small town and had a big area devoted to gifts which was a bit hidden away.
I also was a bit late to the online sale - probably looked after seeing the instore sale. Still found quite a bit to buy and had no problems with checkout etc. at that time.0
