I am just way too excited about the prosepect of the 75% off sale. I think I need to get a life.

If it snows I'll be getting a taxi instead of driving - either way I am not missing out.... LOL

PS. 14th would be so much better for me though.....

My Sister works at Boots and they have all been told the 75% sale starts on the 14th instore. I questioned her about this and she said its definately the 14th but maybe a small chance it could be the 13th. It's all quite hush hush apparently.

It's a bit of a trek for me to get to Boots so I don't want to dash in a day early. Will we know it's 75% saletime when the website changes its prices or do we have to wait for the first kind person to tell us the sale is on?

Sorry, don't know how to multi quote but also to op that have said similar to the above - the way I said it in my head was more whiney/jokey and probably my use of smilies didn't help. I don't begrudge anyone getting what they want at whatever price they are willing to pay. Obviously, if I wanted those items that badly I would have either paid full price or 50% It was the same as when people say 'who stole such and such an item from my basket?' - they aren't actually accusing anyone. Sorry if what I meant and what came across were two different things but this is often the way with the written word on these forums
Just browsing and saw your post and this is so true, i thougt you were asking a retorical (sp) question. But you really are right, i wrote an email to a job agency regarding a position in nz once and we were at the salary negotiation stage etc and she thought i didnt want the post because of certain travel requirements of the job and all i actually wanted was to find out which days i would need to travel so i could plan my other activities around it. I was really worried that she had changed her mind about me iykwim.. Anyhow good luck to you all in the sale.

    Nab
    xx
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

  • Apologies if this is a daft question - in my defence I'm a newbie. Does anyone know what time the on-line sale starts as I'm snowed in and am still likely to be mid-week?

I only found out about it through MSE in 2008 & that year there were about 15 people outside the store. last year there were more like 50 & there was a fight by the S&G, also serious aisle blocking.

DH claims he is in training now as he is my 'front line' - I have to be in work and cannot get time off

(He tries very hard but does pick up some odd things  )

  • The things in my basket keep slowly disappearing...

Oh well, have bought a few things I really wanted in the 50% sale, although my last order says its been despatched, but on DHL website they say undelivered due to adverse weather.... Anyone else had this? Will they return my boxe's back to the depot, or try to deliver it when the weather is a bit better? I don't want to lose them, I has some S&G in there...

Hi everyone (my first post and about time too),

I ordered some stuff from boots before new year, it couldn't be delivered due to the adverse weather conditions, however they did manage to get it out to me on Saturday, so hang on in there, Im sure theyre holding it for you.

PS I might have a look at the big sale, Im lucky enough to live near 2 Boots, but to be honest, I think there are more bargains to be had pre-christmas with the 1200 points (plus 500 code points from store card booth). I never seem to find anything in the 75% sale, maybe I get in there too late though..
    Tesco points £70 - Boots points £62

Does anyone know what stock is like in Milton Keynes or Northampton main store? I'm in Northampton, but have booked day off, and prepared to travel to MK is there is lots of stock.

Went to Sixfields, there is lots of the "fresh" smellies sets and various other sets. Also some alcohol sets. No No7 make up sets though, or many of the brand names.

Trying to decide which is best store to hit first!!

I worked up city for the boots xmas night team this year and when i was there, there was nothing we were literally filling the shelves with everything we had left and the warehouse was empty.
So unless they have recieved any deliveries with xmas stock or excess xmas stock from other stores, im doubtful.

Sorry just to clarify thats the central milton keynes store!
Due to budget cuts the light at the end of the tunnel will be switched off.
