Tesco refusing to fill petrol on the wrong side of the pump?

It all comes from the same place. But supermarkets do not add as many additives as BP/Shell. If you drive a high powered car you would notice a difference.
I think Top Gear did a test, they dropped a marble in the petrol from Shell and again from a supermarket. The marble dropped straight to the bottom of one and slowly sunk to the bottom of the other - should be on youtube somewhere. But at the end of the day if you drive a srtandardish car then supermarket fuel will be fine. I just begrudge giving tesco's anymore money.0 -
I am sad enough to keep detailed records of the MPG I get from my car
It's a bog standard V-reg Rover 200 1.4. I used to run it on Shell petrol and only averaged 34 mpg. After switching to buying my petrol from Morrisons I now average 38 mpg. That's driving in the same style doing the same journey to work and back plus a few odds and ends.
So my car seems to like Morrisons better than Shell. I don't cross the threshold of any Tesco site if I can help it!0
