Whatever - it was professional misconduct for him to pass his suspicions on to the others. Even if someone has been suspended or sacked, it would be misconduct and a breach of confidentiality to talk about it. Grievance Procedure immediately! It may also be worth having a word with CAB. In any other jobs climate, you might be driven to leave after such an incident and then put in for constructive dismissal. But assuming you stay, you might be reasonably entitled to at least a public apology and possibly a settlement as well.
He should be put on a warning, possibly fired.
    Outrageous.
ps I can understand the OP wanting to vindicate themselves by getting a drugs test but presumably the onus is on the accuser to back up their accusations?

A p*****d up manager after a free bar can feel invincible, a works Christmas do can be frightening for some. Things are said that shouldn't be said, and people make right prats of themselves. Hope all has gone well for OP.

I hope the OP has delayed posting as hes working and not having to go to the job centre. I pray for the first outcome, and a very public appology from the manager who accused him of being a druggy.

Best wishes and OP hurry up and post the outcome !!!!

Well, I had my meeting today, all they wanted was my version of events.

They seemed to care about the amount of time it took from the threee of us leaving the toilets after being accused of drug sniffing, to them actually leaving in protest... I can't even remember that! but they went back to it twice. I could only give an estimate of a maximum of 5-10 minutes.
They also accepted my statement and made sure it was considered, as i was very nervous when it came to recanting the events of that night.

Apparently the office apprentice girl has said I offered to get drugs for her a few weeks ago..but I think that they know this was a joke, I am very sarcastic (conversation was about how you can enjoy rock music WITHOUT drugs, however for dance/dub step music- her favourite, it was mandatory)

She is a bit dim though, and it not unknown for her to not 'get' jokes.

I'm still suspended and HR will let me know in writing about their decision of whether or not to drop the matter, or proceed to disciplinary level.

I think i'll hold off on that relaxing glass of wine with my wife for a while.

Just think of this story if you are feeling low at any point through Christmas. Because I bet you'll still be feeling a damn sight better than me... :-(

'Fraid not; I got sacked. When a company has it in for you, they throw you out the door as fast they can. I hope that they've listened to your side of the story and will see sense. If you end up in the disciplinary procedure then you've got 3 years on your side. I only had 9 months, which means I don't have a legal leg to stand on :(

    Merry Christmas
