This saga should be used as a general warning about company events. There will usually be somebody there with a different agenda i.e. how can I score maximum points here. The advice I would give is to drink little and leave early or make an excuse and not go at all.
To the OP if you are to be believed then you might be the answer to someone higher ups prayers "how can we get rid of this useless UK sales manager without paying a penny?" Don't give up the fight!0 -

Cocaine also can leave the bloodstream in less than 3 days so any test would be pointless. If any cocaine was found it would point to the OP being a habitual drug user.
Where is the evidence that the abuse is sustained, and the offer to take drug tests, should be favourable, as if the OP is not a user testing now and at random in the future would show the first manager was wrong to accuse under the affluence of incohol , telling the second manager where to go is understandable, and most people would do the same in the heat of the moment.
The Troll is feeding well tonight0 -
Get the union involved.
Avoid the guy.
Secure your witnesses and sue his !!! off.0 -
Hope it all goes well in the morning. Remember to keep calm and to the point, and above all remember youve done nothing wrong. I hope you report back asap to the thread.

good luck for tomorrow. hopefully HR will see this for exactly what it is.
btw, do you know WHO will be at the meeting tomorrow ie. are they likely to be impartial?0 -
I will most definately let you guys here know how it goes tomorrow.
My mate (who was interviewed today) reported back to me that both his and the other guy who stoood by me's reports have been discussed in the office as almost word for word... throw me into that equation and you have 3/6.
I think this should be okay... although I am still a little nervous in how they word what is said to me tomorrow and I will try my best to keep my emotions in check...
I have asked an old timer who happens to be a union spokesman who likes me to be my witness at this meeting... I feel that the advice he could offer throughout may well be invaluable.
It's interesting how when my mate was being interviewed that the mention of drugs was barely touched upon.... I feel that this may be one of the things they know they can't prove, and their only hope would be on the intimidating behaviour allegation. With the only statement against me as far as i'm aware of is asking someone to f!!! off when they tried to interrupt my manager with the sales guy for saying I was high on drugs and was being aggressive.
I would like to thank everybody here for all their support (including the Anihilator Troll - it was nice to have another angle to look at it with) I am feeling much more confident about what is going to happen tomorrow.
I will not let this slide though. No matter what. Depending on whether or not they decide to drop it tomorrow I will be lodging my grievance as soon as I can.
Thank you all,
Matt0 -
Wasn't the first act of aggression the comment from this sales manager saying 'if you admit you're a druggie, I'll stand by you on Monday'? That was an aggressive and meant to be intimidating comment made by him. Good luck tomorrow0

Good luck for tomorrow OP, finger crossed that all goes well.
If you follow the correct procedures in putting in your grievance, you will, justifiably, make this other guys life a living hell, even if it's short term. Bullying, which this is, is usually taken very seriously by half decent HR departments.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -
Good luck tomorrow!0
