    Hi all

I appreciate the need for the first post to be regularly updated (and only the OP has the authority to do that. As Board Guides we are not permitted to edit other people's posts either.)

I have duplicated the initial posts from the previous thread, so that the 'thread starter' is now an active poster. I have also removed some of the posts that were discussing the new thread layout/start up as they aren't particulary relevant and would be pretty confusing now that the OP has been altered.

I'm hoping that this seems an acceptable compromise and that the arguments will stop here. Long threads do make it difficult for newbies to find the information they are looking for.

Please remember that this forum (and thread) is open to all members old and new and keep this a friendly, welcoming thread. :)

A very good compromise thanks Jo. No offence was meant at all when I set up the first pages of this new thread, and agree that it makes complete sense for a regular poster to be able to make amendments.

Actually, I resent the removal of my posts when I pose proper questions. In my last post I quoted tractorgirl as I'd like to know what she has against mystery shoppers who are a bit younger. She seemed to be implying that we're less able. I'd like her to respond to my point, or at least have the choice to. Hardly seems right on a discussion forum for points of discussion to be censored.

    To Everyone
I have used this forum as a guide to MS and dropped in almost every day and read whats been going on and enjoyed the banter even though I haven't taken part. Thanks

    TractorGirl
I can understand your annoyance with regards to the 1st post needing updated but found this post to be very condescending and uncalled for.

Just my tuppunce for what its worth.

    Sugar xxx

Any chance we can get back on topic?

And the request to update the first post came at 1400, obviously four hours (whilst I've been out earning a few pre-Xmas £££s on a few MSs is not good enough for some!). And I didn't even get any floor shows either :(

However, lets get over this now... Onwards and upwards - More MS to do; and lets face it, that's what we're all here for!

Lots of rather unpleasant things were said or implied as part of an off-topic discussion around the introduction of a new thread. I have removed a number of posts and would hope that the thread could go back to the topic of mystery shopping.

There is a PM system on the forum if you really wanted a forum member to answer a particular point.

    Let me refresh your memory.

"Tried to do a GAP phone shop visit afterwards but browsed the shop for ages and the guys ignored me and I couldn't be arsed to go up and speak to them as it was just me in the store so I left"

And with that .. I really am signing off until after Xmas. I'll be at M15 with Hollypear et al if anyone wants me!!!

Clever girl TG. It makes my point. I once did a mobie phone shop where there were no customers, not even one. shop was totally empty. This in a large shopping mall. There were 4 guys and like Kvet I got totally ignored. Totally blanked me. Guys 1&2 were having a footie discussion. Guy 3 was playing with his iphone and guy 4 was playing a pc game.
Now if I was paying these guys I would want to know this is what a genuine customer can experience. I added in my report were I a genuine customer I would have gone elsewhere. So it was rather nice to pop back into that shop and watch what happened this time ( not as a MS'er I was curious). It was the same 4 guys and they didn't appear to recognise me.This time they all shot up and all 4 came to ask how they could help me.

As it happens a friend of mine who works for that company who doesn't even know I MS then got a job as regional manager for this phone company. He mentioned one day the sales in that shop were way down and then they had shot back up. Turned out he said they had a bad MS report which was confirmed by CCTV.

That is why I thought Kvet was very wrong not reporting it.

I know the kind of shop you mean. I did one yesterday and got no floor show. But as I am sitting eating all my breakie ( I am a hash brown addict) I looked around and lo and behold all the glass around the front door area was boarded up. I asked the MOS cleaning the tables what happened and she said a bunch of feral youths ( my words) smashed the place of on the night before my visit. Felt really sorry for them as it must have been traumatic. This is a golden arches situated right beside a Police Station.

So the yobs are now lodged in said Police station awaiting a court appearance on Monday. Now the snow has finally reached us in Glasgow lets hope the little misunderstood souls get snowed in for another week. Bet they are pestering the coppers to go get them burgers.

Hope there is no more snow - 220 mile round trip for MSing tomorrow.

All this talk of no more msing to the new year, 4 tomorrow, 1 tuesday, then I'm done.
Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
