I feel bad for posting an alert if noone else can see the jobs :(
I'm 30 and can see them. Didn't realise noone else couldn't. And the jobs are definitely for March not leftovers for this month!

I see them, so thanks (even if I didn't take any)

So I have a question for you Pennies, have you ever seen a TNS supermarket competitor job for Ipswich? we've got a couple of the large supermarkets but I never seem to see any competitors for them, the nearest is Felixstowe. Am I too slow in checking?

The jobs are with a posh department store and it says that they will email the brief when I book the job. The only thing it says is that I have to make a minimum £x purchase.
Does anyone know if I get to keep the items I buy?

Can you take the client name out of the title and content, and also the fee out of the post please. You're not allowed to post these due to confidentiality.

    Thanks.

Phew, I thought I was going mad seeing the jobs! Someone had taken our local store though! I have only once ever seen the competitor store in Ipswich (and visited it) and that is for the same competitor as in Felixstowe. Have never seen it pop up again so I always assumed I was too slow as well! Have never seen any other type of competitor either.
  • Thanks Pennies.

ESA money showing in my bank today. Looks like all those eggs have paid of after all!

Has anybody else turned down the car assignments with the 'nude' company that are for the brand in the news at the moment. I tried to explain that it would look prett suspicious to be shopping for a car that has serious faults, but I'm not sure they saw it that way .

Hi, I hope this is the right thread!!

Optimum Contact have emailed me asking if I want to commit to doing satisfaction surveys. I've read all the bumph they have sent me but it doesn't answer many questions.
Dies anyone do these? If so could you poss let me know what it's like, what kind of times of day you need to call and if the fees are good.

Any info gratefully received as I don't want to agree and regret it!

I have done quite a lot. Gave up in the end though, because I had two large runs of work where most of the calls were to mobiles (and at peak times). I just couldn't make a decent amount out of them.

Also, towards the end of a campaign, all that's left are repeat calls (i.e. previous attempts failed). For these, I was getting a success rate of something like 1 in 20. Bearing in mind that even the failed calls can cost money (call charges), because you can get connected but not get a completed survey, I found this all a bit expensive when it was calls to mobiles. The next wave of work isn't released onto the system until the last one is completed, so there's no way to boost your income with only the dregs around...

In one particularly gruesome day, I made less than £6 for something like 9 hours at the end of a hot telephone.

That said, as other respondents mentioned, there are people who get on well with these surveys, and clearly make a decent sum from them.

I read this with interest to. Calls go thorugh an 0845 number first dont they, how does that work, is the whole cost of the call based upon 0845 number? My mobile inclusive doesnt include 0845 but maybe my home phone does.

Not all surveys have to be recorded, it's only some clients/campaigns.

If they are recorded calls, I am sure you get charged for the non geographic number call only.

Once you are established with OC, there's a good chance that you can negotiate about call recording. Depending on client, they were happy for me to record 1 in 5 or 1 in 10 calls. At that time my land line was charging for non geographic number calls, so this made a huge difference to my overheads.

Looks like I'm just too slow after all, and I was in there 4 minutes after the alert was posted!

    Must. Try. Harder.
  • Are the discount designers normally monthly? I'm sure they were but have not seen anything for a while.

I've had mine. Cheque dated 19th January but can't remember exact day it arrived. Been carrying it my hanbag for about a week as waiting for bank job so I have something to pay in!

Thanks for that Rosy, I'll drop them an email. I thought I should have had it by now, the cheque usually arrives very quickly.
