It has but not many phones do it all staright out of the box you have to learn how to add to them (maybe an updated internet browser or the right software to open PDF's etc)

    and

Orange have them in their shops and so do o2 and vodafone.

Basically the have adobe reader on them so ca open PDF's (I think you can also get this for a blackberry too on the adobe site?)

Windows Phones run Windows mobile (with word and excel too), the newest versions are very finger friendly.

i have the o2 xda zest and runnibg opera mobile (internet browser) i can do anyhting i can do on my computer at home and to prove it im writng this from my phone in the middle of Portsmouth's shopping centre!

When i get an email (on my gmail) i have set my phone to grab them and beep, so i always get GR jobs because they go so quickly.
Thanks for info. I'm glad you don't live near me! :D

I suppose some of the food can be a bit hard on dentures. :rotfl:Just kidding! What is the age limit before RE expect you to eat just baby food?
  • That's why hubby got me a Netbook for Xmas. :j
Not too handy in the pocket or handbag though is it?

Apparently on the blackberry you can get an alert when you receive an email whereas with the iphone you have to keep checking your emails. Blackberry makes more sense for MSers to me.

I have an iPhone and I love it. You can set your emails to 'Push' so they come through without you having to log in to the application and a little number is displayed with the amount of new emails. It vibrates and makes a sound too (which is different to the text message sound). I can read PDFs for briefing notes and accept jobs - all in all I don't know how I ever worked without it!

On a more MS note, has anyone had any jobs from MCE recently? I've not seen anything on there in months.

We must be in the same area. That b***** takes all my work too. But he/she does shove some of it back occasionally! The other thing I've noticed with GR is that they don't always seem to email notify now.
North West? I wasn't getting any email alerts from them for a few months but kept seeing the jobs disappearing on their website. I gave them a call and they sorted the problem.

If you search this thread (or look at other posts I have left) I went into a little bit of detail about the settings in order to get all you want.

For PDF's you need to download an app onto the phone...can't remember it's name at moment but it's in one of my posts. It costs a small amount unless you are lucky like me to have a boss who paid for it!:p

I must be one of the ******** people that pinch the jobs! (not nice to call fellow msers rude names

MG I have a dell mini 10, which fits nicely in to a large handbag (alongside my notes when I'm out shopping), certainly works for me, tend to check my emails whenever I park near somewhere with free wifi - McD's is a favourite as their wifi signal is quite strong even away from the building. :A

Or pop in to somewhere like a coffee shop/pub which has it for a drink while I'm out.

Still keep missing the GR jobs though, wonder if its the same shopper getting to them before both of us? (I seem to remember you're a bit south of my 'patch').
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

    This sums up my experience!

I'm also very very excited to see what apple announce this evening. It's rumoured to be a 10" iPhone. So some people might prefer this! Although we don't know the exact specs yet.

Thanks for the iphone info. Going to get one now. The rude name was said in jest. :D I'm only jealous of whoever it is who is getting all the GR jobs in my area within a minute of them getting posted.
