Does anyone know how long they take to get back to you (if they do at all)? I registered around this time and have heard nothing so far.

I phoned to register. Very simple and they sent out all of the information to me within a few days.

I would have thought that they might have redirected staff to cope with the queries from people submitting their online tax returns so that might be the delay.
  • gosh just got this email

Thank you for mystery shopping with GAPbuster.
Following best business practice, our clients require us to continually provide a broad range of shoppers to complete their evaluations; therefore, we periodically review our shopper database. This is a great way to ensure GAPbuster consistently delivers quality results to our clients.
As a result of this practice we often remove shoppers from our system, and in this instance, you will not be required to complete any further assignments for GAPbuster. Any jobs assigned to you which have not yet been submitted have been cancelled from your account - please do not complete the assignment(s).

Any payments owing to you from work already completed will be paid as normal in the next payment period. If your bank account details need to be added or altered, please go to the Shopper Portal and submit any changes or additions.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to re-register with us. This decision is final and can not be challenged.
We sincerely thank you for your continued efforts to improve the shopping experience for all customers.
We hope your GAPbuster shopping experience has been enjoyable.
    Best regards,
    Shopper Team
    GAPbuster Worldwide

i have completed bout 15 jobs with them so far- no problems but one job they sent me to did not have any public access so i emailed them to ask that i still get paid and it looks like theyve sacked me! help!

Quite a few ms companies get bashed by us shoppers but "sacking" someone without giving any reason and blankly refusing to discuss it with the person involved is pretty much the most shoddy treatment I have heard about. What makes it worse is that this doesn't seem to be a one off case.

Agree totally. Esp when the poster concerned has only done 15 jobs. Very odd indeed.

  • I have said this before but Gap are an awful company.

I was told on the phone that I was one of their best shoppers and was always getting phone calls where I helped them out with last minute jobs.

Within weeks I had received the above email, I was actually doing a petrol job at the time they sent it. They would not give me an explanation either.

I used them as a filler company either doing a bunch of their jobs in the same area or when I had work for other companies. Their burger jobs are pathetic, the fee didn't cover what they expected you to purchase and as soon as you asked for a receipt they were all over you like a rash. I have even been into a venue where they had Gapbuster written on the top of the till roll!

As you can see not a company I would recommend.

    Cheers Paul

The only company I have ever had real trouble with is the one who do the annual pallet counts (not mystery shopping, I know, but I signed upt to them primarily for the mystery shopping and auditing). They returned reports everytime an accidental "he" or "she" slipped into a comment (not allowed to use any thing that could identify a staff member) or their proofreader didn't like the comment. For example, I was often asked to remove statements such as "the staff member asked no questions to ascertain my needs" or "two staff members were in conversation at the till point". I did the occasional merchandising job for these people, but they hardly ever managed to send me the right stuff to complete the work needed. The final straw was when I telephoned to advise that a stand in a shopping mall was not present, and I was very rudely told to go back and carry on looking until I found it. Gosh, I could still be there now (it never did appear). Anyway the said company stopped offering me regualr work after I complained. One of their profile questions asked if I had ever been dismissed by a field marketing/research company. Needless to say, I amended my profile!:)

This is probably a stupid question and something to do with my less than perfect IT skills but when I print off an RE questionnaire I lose a bit of text on the right hand side. Does anyone know how to prevent this?

Have you tried changing the page margins in page set up?

I think I am going to be sacked from GAP soon. My son hasn’t been well this week and I have had to cancel a lot of jobs. I have a lot of jobs booked with other companies this weekend and I really hate being unreliable.
  • Hello, I am trying to do my tax return ( by the deadline ) and I am finding it a bit difficult!!
When I am putting down my earnings per job, do I for example put down the fee and also how much I have spent - say for a restaurant job, I get paid £5 and the meal cost £25 so do I put total earned £30 or do I just put down the fee paid??

The tax return is also asking me for p60 details for mystery shopping which I do not have and dont think I have ever had one but I do have one from my other job which is not self employed - hope this all makes sense!!
    Thank you for any help

It may help if you email them via the contact us button to explain why you have cancelled assignments.

Hope you son gets better soon.
