    I meant to sell at £3 as I said way back on this thread (More on instinct than anything else). Anyway missed the boat as did not set instruction to sell so I am now going to hang on in there in to 2007 and see what happens.

    Thanks to all for the info along the way everyone

    Don't worry mad. Now that mine are sold at a tad under £3 they're bound to sail away - way past that - probably get an offer from someone wanting to pay £3.50 a share next week.

    I agree with Yorkshireman that they are probably a good longer term hold if you bought some to go with your windfall ones. Unfortunately we were on holiday when the prospectus arrived and it was too late to get everything back to them otherwise I would probably have punted a few grand on extra shares. The windfall ones aren't in sufficient numbers to keep for the longer term IMO. But BoL to those who do.

    I'm not familiar with Computershare's share dealing service. Does the fact that you now have a share certificate now make a difference or have you transferred the shares to another stockbroker and placed a limit order with them?

    Computershare told me that having a share certificate didn't matter. I hven't transferred them anywhere else.

    George, if the limit order question was to me - it was 298.50
  • Standard soares to 323p :) :beer::j :eek:

    Citywire - Loyal Standard Life members do well

    Except it looks like a journalist's error :(:o

    More seriously:

    Scotsman - Rebel Standard Life employees launch legal battle against our firm

    They don't like the reforms to their copper-bottomed pension scheme to bring Standard out of mutual fantasyland and into the real world of insurance companies

    But at least the traditional year end rally shows some signs of materialising :), which has got to be good news.

    See - told you as soon as I sold they'd soar away. Drat, drat and double drat! ;)
  • I guess that the FTSE100 will fall tomorrow and that SL will lose some of the recent gains.

    I'm usually wrong.

    This erroneous information was quoted in the Sunday Telegraph yesterday as well. I was rather happily surprised for a few minutes until I remembered that I already knew what the price had been doing on Friday. :(
  • Up again today (304p :)) against a flat FTSE.
