One of the most important lessons I have learned from my marriage break up was that having separate social lives is very important. A couple should be just that, TWO people, not a single entity. I love that song lyric (will remember the song in a minute...lol) that goes 'I don't want to be your other half, I believe that one and one make two'.

I lost my identity when I was married, and it has been a hard fought battle to find 'me' again (that sounds a bit cheesy, but you know what I mean!).

I think if I had been my own person, I wouldn't have been so unhappy and frustrated in the marriage, and wouldn't have felt so despairing and lonely when he stopped paying attention to me.

Very true Snags.. I don't want to fall into that having to do everything together thing.. I don't go out loads but I still have the odd night out and the odd weekend away with just my friends. It does bother me that since we got together he hasn't done anything like that of his own apart from a couple of work things, and I feel a bit responsible for making sure he's not fed up as he does get down very easily. I think we're at a bit of a funny stage, it's sort of taken as read that we spend certain nights and all weekend together and I sort of feel bad if I break the routine, because he very rarely does ...

    How's the sinuses Bunny?

Why don't you just have a day out somewhere, somthing like a spa/races/theatre. Everyone can pay for themselves and then go for a meal in the evening?

  • Just had crumpets and now realy fancy a sausage sandwich. No sausages though.

We still have no snow but DD1 10 miles away has sent a picture and they have lots. Her friend still wants them to drive to London this afternoon for a party. Really think it would be stupid! Plus I will have to defrost my car to drive over there to babysit.
Am I just getting old and grumpy?
  • Have a fab time Maz!

Bunny, love the Christmas bunny avatar, so cute :D

You could still arrange a great weekend away bunny! Look on t'internet for bunkbarns where loads of people can bunk over and split the cost, everyone brings some food and booze and you'll still have a great time! :T

We stayed in one on the welsh border and there was a hot tub, games room, very comfy beds, really good hot showers and a huge brand new kitchen with range cooker, it was on a farm and the price included horse riding on the Sunday

    all for....

    ..wait for it...

    ...£70 each!

EDIT: IN FACT THIS WOULD MAKE FOR A FANTASTIC MSE MEET ANYTIME :T :T
