Easyjet wouldnt suprise me - they seem to be cancelling flights next year left, right and centre GRRRRR

Agreed, they have also cancelled more flights this past week than all other airlines put together it seems.

Another idea for a thread might be "Which airline would you most like to collapse?".

Clear winner for me - Ryanair.

Air Comet ( a Spanish low cost airline specialising in Latin America flights) has just gone bust.

If it's the outfit I think they are they did operate a Gatwick - Madrid service

Easyjet are sitting on a large cash mountain and have plenty of brand new planes to sell if they did find themselves in trouble. They've also got some very nice slots to sell in 'premium' airports. For that reason, they're going nowhere soon.
    Ryan Air.....

Try and spell the name of the airline correctly, eh?

Ryanair won't be going anywhere either - they're sitting on roughly around 2 billion dollars IN CASH, they have a significant stake in Aer Lingus and have a fleet of young planes that can easily be sold and leased back in the event of financial difficulty.

Having said this - Aer Lingus would be a good bet for bankruptcy. They're not doing too well at all, not helped by the unions being uncooperative and Ryanair causing havoc every time they do something absurd.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Those " brand new " planes are nearly all about 3/4 years old now, how do you know that the aircraft are not leased, like most airlines?

According to the bookies bmibaby is fav at 7/2 ,Monach a close 2nd at 9/2 (slashed from 50/1)

the reason Monarch’s odds were shortened was because nearly eight out of every ten bets placed over the past week have been on Monarch, which followed a similar pattern to betting on XL Airways last year
    Have a nice day :)
