If you are not subscribing to Sky Sports or Sky Movies, then what are you getting that you could not get on Freesat or Freeview? Sky+ is just a PVR that you pay £120 pa to rent, when you could buy one for not much more than that.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Im going to try the cancellation thing, as my 12months expired 3months ago,
and so i would love to get my bill reduced by £5 - £10 per month atleast,
especially since they have just increased their unlimited internet from £10 t £15 per month, taking my sky package from £26pm to £31.
+Having to pay BT £12pm for fuc-ing line rental, even though i dont have a home phone!

April if you say you want to leave they should offer you 25% off for six months.

My bill went from £50 to £37. For All channels, Talk and internet (although it's the free internet, lowest MB).

I think that's good value really. The only thing is you need to agree to stay for another 12 months.

Heya, i phoned them (although i had a genuine reason to call, since my disk-to-box cable has got messedup internally and so giving poor sound after watching for more than 30mins without a 10mins break),
they offered half price on engineer callout to re-cable it OR 25% of for 6months, or were going to offer sky plus/hd for £49.

I tried to get them to do the half price callout AND 25% off, or preferably free callout for re-cableing,
but the lady said she can only give 1 offer as thats all the system will allow.

So im getting it recabled on monday for £32, but then sometime between tuesday-friday i will phone them up again saying i want to cancel as i barely ever watch tv so dont seem the value in paying so much for it,
and will then take the 6months with 25% discount. :o:rolleyes:

Will that be 25% off my entire sky package btw do you know?
    Or only off the TV?

As i pay £18 for the TV, and £10 for the max 20GB broadband.
So would ideally like 25% off mt entire sky setup.

I don't know because I only pay for the channels.

To give you a tip and one I doubt many use...when I phoned up a few months ago I said I am leaving for Virgin blah blah. They didn't offer any discounts or anything. I just swallowed n stayed put.

This week I phoned up again and said I want to cancel. I told them I wasn't interested in any deals or lying about going to Virgin, I just simply can't afford Sky anymore.

This time they offered the 25% discount.

So don't even bother saying you heard about a deal or threaten to move to Virgin as I think Sky are used to this now and realise Virgin can offer no better than they can.

Let me know if the sympathy vote works, I think and hope it will for you!
