Cheers charlie12, I didn't know you could do that, however, "Your claim has been accepted. Note that Quidco deducts £5 from its members' earnings each year, and we reflect that in awarding Highest Cashback claims. Your latest claim takes your total claimed points to 300, so you would need to submit further claims in excess of 200 before we can award you any extra points" :o

    Ohhhhhh :o

My mistake, I completely forgot about the fact that they take the first £5 like Quidco. So I guess you're £3 down instead of £3 up! Sorry...

I've got a couple of £3 CD wow vouchers that I'm not going to use - you can have them if you like :) PM me.

EDIT: just realised, you probaly got to keep the 500 points anyway, right? So hopefully you didn't lose out.

i don't know why you bother yes the few phones that they have in stock are cheap but they're rubbish cheap rubbish is still rubbish

I don't understand why people buy expensive phones. Their main purpose works fine on the lower priced models. Just a matter of opinion I suppose but I will spend higher on more important things.

I didn't read it that way  ...mmm...I certainly hope I get to keep the 500 or I'll not be a happy bunny...don't blame you at all...no need to apologise :)
I'm still showing 500 pending points so hopefully that's what I'll get. Logically, I would hardly want to claim for the "highest cashback" if I was going to end up worse off would I. Lets hope they look at it like that too!
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Yes, I remember now. You'll definitely get your 500 points :)

It only puts the extra you would have got (300) towards the 500 point Quidco fee.

It works out ok because you only need to sacrifice another 200 points out of any extra price matches, then you'll be able to do full price matches for a year. I find it handy to use both Quidco and Rpoints, just to split the earnings in case one provider ever shuts down. Also sometimes I find Rpoints tracking to be a bit more reliable so I just use them and do a pricematch.

The only thing you have to bear in mind with price matching is that it won't work well with "co-operative" offers, e.g Easymobile at Quidco only advertises at £8 but it will actually be £19 due to the number of people buying through them. In this case, you'll only be able to pricematch for £8 with Rpoints, since Quidco are only advertising £8 on the site, so you're much better off using Quidco in this instance.

Got to the end of the ordering process and got a message saying it had failed, then the price (even for existing customers) went up £10 for a few minutes before the site went down altogether, yesterday afternoon. Still down this morning - is anyone else having problems with the Virgin site?

Yeah, I've got to agree with you Rogerb! I always used buy the latest phones - with camera, video, MP3, 3G, MMS, etc, etc and was really caught up with having the latest model, my last being a Samsung Z500.

Then I realised, although I have this high spec phone, I do no more than talk and text. So I flogged it, went back to basics and bought a Nokia 1101 for next to nothing. I haven't looked back since and I don't feel the loss of all those high spec features has had any impact on me at all. One good thing I've noticed is that the battery seems to last me forever, unlike when I had my power thirsty Z500.

So, am I reading this right? rpoints have sort of had to give their members the option to claim the same cashback as Quidco (normally twice as much, btw!) but take £5 out of each and every claim made this way to reflect the £5 Quidco deduct per year? Or would that just be charged on your first 'cashback match' through them? Although I've registered with rpoints I haven't actually used them as using Quidco is far easier if you want maximum cashback (in the sense that you don't have to actually claim any extra, you get the 100% cashback all the time)..
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Just to let you know that although the refurbished AX72 is loked, it is just locked to the T-mobile network. So it will work fine with EasyMobile and T-mobile SIMs as well as Vrgin.

(Mine arrived on Friday and I did a bit of experimenting. It will not accept other SIMs without being unlocked)

And a phone is still a phone wether its cheap or dear. I want a phone that will let me make calls. Nothing more.I don't need to take photos, I don't need to listen to mp3s, I don't need it to walk the dog and do the dishes. I am quite happy getting my "fancy" phone every year on a cashback contract then selling it on to someone on ebay for £150+. Nice profit there!
