Clasics wrote:So, am I reading this right? rpoints have sort of had to give their members the option to claim the same cashback as Quidco (normally twice as much, btw!) but take £5 out of each and every claim made this way to reflect the £5 Quidco deduct per year?
Fortunately, it doesn't work like that
They only take the first £5 out of any extra cashback you claim from pricematches per year. You can do full pricematches after the fee is paid. I appreciate that there is a lot of negativity surrounding Rpoints, I also thought they were useless at first but they can be useful, you just have to see through all the "Rpoints makes huge profits shocker!!!!111" type stuff
Which can take a while to get over, I suppose.

Actually, the Nokia 1101 is one of the best phones on the market for intelligent people, as it is cheap and has a superb battery life which is all that counts for a lot of people. I don't need a phone with an mp3 player as I already have a proper mp3 player, I don't need a crap camera on my phone, as I have a cracking digital camera at home for taking quality photos, I don't need rubbish games on my phone as I have a proper handheld games console (Nintendo DS lite, far better than these daft phone games). I don't need internet on my phone as surfing the web on 1.5" screen is a joke, and I have internet access at home and at work.
What I do need is a phone that is reliable, inexpensive, light and has a very good battery life - Nokia 1101.Titch

If everyone is clever like you, retailers will find it difficult to make money on new models.

I will carry my games console occasionally (flights, hotels etc) when I want to play superb games (I mainly use it around the house as many DS games are amazing whether you are at home or on the move), as the games on mobile phones are pathetic compared to Nintendo DS games. In my opinion, games on phones are utter garbage and unplayable.
I carry my tiny mp3 player as I want to listen to quality music, not crap quality music from a phone that can hold a very limited number of songs.
I only take photos that are worth taking (when i'm out mountain biking, mountaineering etc), so on those occasions I take my camera as phone cameras are a waste of time for the type of photos I take.
I have no need for a laptop as I have internet access at home and work. I do not need to access the internet on a 25 minute train journey or my lunch break. I do not need sat nav as I have the ability to read road signs. I do not need bluetooth for anything.
So I have 2 things that I always carry - phone and mp3, one thing I occasionally carry - games console, and one thing I only carry when really needed - camera (If you want high quality photos, you simply have to have a proper camera). All these items are superb at their job, whereas a fancy phone is a jack of all trades, master of none. A fancy phone isn't even a master of being a phone due to poor battery life! Phones are for phoning, and in this respect the Nokia 1101 outperforms most other phones (battery life and price).
I rest my case.Titch
