no smilies, no buttons, no idea how to deal with it

Options
I've seen for a while that I cannot use the smilies. They seem to be disabled for me. Although I can insert one if I know the symbols used to represent it, like this one ;) (just typed : and ))
I can live without smilies, but I am concerned that the "thanks" buttons don't work when I try them. Those and when I try to see who has thanked whom only send me to the top of the page I'm reading.
I have observed that I always get a "error on page" message at the bottom of the screen, and refreshing won't help. I did not have these problems a couple of weeks ago.
Any idea why this happens and/or how I can fix it will be appreciated. Thanx.

Are you set to using the Enhanced or Standard Editor?

I'm having the same problem - can't change the font size, type, colour etc and no smilie action either. Have set to the enhanced editor but still not working (inserts theoretical sad smilie)

I've tried that test page and it doesn't seem to work for me. I am pretty sure I don't have mozilla, as it suggests.sra, I've checked that one as well, changed to enhance mode but still not working :(

    It says Mozilla compatible.

What does the third box down say?

    Does your browser support JavaScript?

I am fine at home, but not at work.

I think from this it may be javascript isn't enabled on my laptop, will have to check it out tomorrow as I hate not being able to thank people!!

    Thanks

Hey, espresso, I just clicked your thank button to try again and I think it worked! I cannot be sure though because I cannot read who thanked you.Weird.

A couple of things to try.

    1. Clean your browsers cache. Tools, Internet Options, Temporary Internet Files, Delete Files.

    2. Try pressing Ctrl + F5.

    ;)

Hmmm, intriguing - it doesn't work for me. It tells me I need to install quick time, but I didn't think that would affect smilies etc??I have deleted the internet files and pressed Ctrl F5, what is the difference between that and pressing F5? As in what does Ctrl F5 do??ThanksM
