How crazy is it that babies are so picky already!
Thanks for the replies.Interesting to hear others and their experiences.Alreafy figured out with my little man to buy the cartons. As much as its annoying-I couldnt help but laugh when Itried giving him the milk and he gave me a major death stare and shoved his beaker out of the way.Looks like I'm going to have fun with this one...........
On another baby feeding question-for all you breastfeeding woman-when did you stop...I feel like I'll be breastfeeding him til hes 15!0 -
I did mixed feeding with my dd as I knew I'd be going back to work, and we used Aptimil.
At this age you might find it easier to cut out the bottle and go straight to a cup. Doidy cups are very popular for this.
I used Farleys with my ds's, and couldn't get hold of it, but they're much older than dd (20, 18 and 3).0 -
My friend supplements her breast milk with Aptimil. Her son won't take anything else!! Flatly refuses to drink it. It's not the bottle, she's been giving him a bottle (of breast milk) a couple of times a week since he was born!Slimming World member - started 13 January 2010Starting weight: 11st 4.5lbs :eek:/ Current weight 11stMini Goal 1: 10st 11.5lbs (1/2 stone)10% Goal: 10st 2.5lbsMini Goal 2: 9st 9.5lbsGoal weight: 9st / 2.5lbs to MG1!0

Mine were on SMA Gold but I had to wean them on to it over a week - mixed my expressed milk with SMA 80/20 then 70/30 etc etc until they got the taste for it. Luckily when they were a year old they took to cows milk straight away.
If he uses a dummy at all you could put a bit of the formula in a medicine dummy (ebay), to try to give him the taste of it.0 -
dd1 had sma from 6 months but would only have dr brown bottles
dd2 had cow and gate from 6 weeks, she will have any bottles but wont touch the ready made cartons only the powder stuff0 -
I used cow and gate and never had any problems. Maybe it's the bottle he's turning away from and not the formula. Has he been soly breastfed? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

I planned to stop at a year, however DD is now 17 months and still has one 1/2 hour feed in the morning. She dropped all the other feeds, and even her bedtime feed, but she still asks for her morning milk.
As it is I am 14 weeks pregnant and with M/S and tiredness the extra 1/2 hour laying in bed helps me out no-end so it works for us.
I always said when they can ask for it they are too old, but now I'm there I don't agree with that anymore. DD knows she just has it in the morning so she doesn't ask any other time, plus she calls it 'milk' not boob, or titty like some toddlers I've met0 -

Happy 1st birthday DS / DD. Here's a cup of cow's milk for bedtime. Enjoy!:rotfl:
Not a peep from either of them wanting bitty. They accepted the change quite happily.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I used Aptimil too. She took to it best after being exclusively breast fed for some months. Here I go again on my own....0

I went back to work full time when E was 10 months. She went onto Aptimil for one drink at lunchtime but still breastfed for the rest of her feeds plus she was eating a few bits of real food too. She's now 26 months and still enjoying her evening breastfeed. She's been having normal cows milk since she turned 1 aswell as her meals. Also, with both of my girls i found it easier to go straight to a sippy cup rather than a bottle.0
