What formula does your baby use....

Options
Hi guys

My beautiful baby son is today 7 months old.He is breastfed and loving it!Anyway-intend to go back to work next year and want him to get used to formula so the pressure can be taken off alittle bit from me, and probably mix this with either breastfeeding at night or expressing milk, which iI do from time to time.I've tried him on Cow and Gate and he didnt take it.Thought it would take him abit of time so I craftly mix it in with his baby cereal which hes fine with.Problem is I've still been trying him with to to drink and he flatly refuses it e.g pushes it away, turns his face away etc.Tried him drinking from a bottle, beaker, nothing. So what I'm planning to do is try him on another, but which one? What formula do other people use and has anyone had the same problem as me?

  • Hi, I have always used SMA and never had a problem, maybe worth getting some of the cartons rather than a tin to save money if he doesn't like it x
  • I use Aptimal, by first baby had terrible colic with sma.

Aptimal, transition from breast feeding was definitely very easy.
  • I went from breastfeeding my youngest to cow and gate follow on he was 7 months at the time, and no issues there. The biggest issue was getting him to take a bottle!
  • Hi My eldest would have SMA Progess the other 3 could only have Nutramigen from Birth. I also found the Closer to Nature bottles better than others - Sorry I can't help more and good luck finding the right milk :)

  • Hi, my fist had SMA gold and ended up on wysoy after he developed a temporary intolerance to milk but he didn't ever seem satisfied on SMA so with my second i used aptimal and he was so happy with it, and i swear it is the best formula out the IMO, i would def recommend it, it is slightly pricer IIRC,but would use it agian if i ever had any more

  • Hi my little boy is on Cow & gate Toddler milk now after progressing through all various stages with cow and gate. Originally he had SMA but was sick constantly with it as soon as we swapped he was fine, I mean he thre up more than he took in! Also the closer to nature bottles are amazing, especially for the teat being similar to (ahem) mums boobs. they are designed to make the transition from breastfeeding easier. I also found they were really great in reducing wind. All babies are different though you might have to try quite a few.

  • My little one is on cow and gate. I also use the tommee tippee closure to nature bottles that have teats that are close in shape and texture to the breast. The teat is quite flexible compared to the avent harder ones. It could be the bottles not the milk. Good luck xx
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

  • Aptimal for my latest, I even found the patented gadget of a spoon leveller a great idea.

My first had Farleys but it is impossible to get hold of, that is why I went for Aptimal, they also have an easy digest range which is great.
