Richmond properties are selling far more quickly than Sandbanks and it's more beautiful. Sandbanks is just a beach, and is a long long way from central London. Big difference.
Anyone who knows Richmond knows how lovely it is there.0 -
Sh*t - just sold a very similar property 25 mins direct train from the city for just over 300k - equally nice are IMO.I think....0

Also anyone could move to the middle of nowhere up north England or WAles or Scotland etc etc where there are less facilities and less desire to live for the masses (which obviously is a plus for some), and cash in on there more expensive property "down south". Not sure what I would do for a living though as I need to be near a major financial centre
I can confirm we do have banks in most Northern Towns and Cities......0 -

For £1m you can buy a 4/5 bedroom townhouse in any number of high-end Zone 2 areas.
I can't imagine what they are thinking, I believe it must be a mistake.
I think you'll find you're wrong. Do you actually live in London or have you just visited it?
£1M will NEVER buy you a 4/5 bedroom townhouse in the a high end Zone 2 area!

I'm surprised that house in Ashford is asking so much! Ashford is a slum. I wouldn't live in Ashford if you gave me a palace to live in.
At the end of the day it's all to do with location and style of house too. New builds have no character at all.0 -

I know Lillieshall Road very very very very well. I also know that it's one of the most expensive roads in Clapham Old Town, which certainly *is* a high-end area of Zone 2. And I know that house, and it's quite overpriced (although not as badly as some of the Macaulay Rd places I've seen, although they are vast).
Here is a 4 bed, less than 50 metres from the end of Lillieshall Road, for less than a million.

And here is a 4 bed for less than a million in Abbeville Village
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-23964052.html?locationIdentifier=OUTCODE%5E2517&insId=1&minPrice=800000&maxPrice=1000000&pageNumber=1&fromSummary=true&backToListURL=%2Fproperty-for-sale%2Ffind.html%3FsearchType%3DSALE%26locationIdentifier%3DOUTCODE%255E2517%26insId%3D1%26radius%3D0.0%26displayPropertyType%3D%26minBedrooms%3D%26maxBedrooms%3D%26minPrice%3D800000%26maxPrice%3D1000000%26retirement%3D%26partBuyPartRent%3D%26maxDaysSinceAdded%3D%26_includeSSTC%3Don%26sortByPriceDescending%3D%26primaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26secondaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldDisplayPropertyType%3D%26oldPrimaryDisplayPropertyType%3D%26newHome%3D%26auction%3Dfalse%26x%3D30%26y%3D5
Now I wouldn't say that either of these were better than your example, and perhaps 5 beds was an overestimation (would require somewhere like Clapham South or Wandsworth) but they are *half* the price and still 4 beds in a very nice areas of Zone 2 (and as I said, one being literally within a stone's throw).0 -
Must admit knowing both Clapham and Richmond well....I'd pay the premium to live in Richmond if I had to choose between the two (Yeah like I could afford to lol)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
