Would you buy this 2-bed terrace at this price?

I'm sure it's mainly the location isn't it? Isn't Richmond a really sought after area? And for a typical terrace especially in London, it looks fairly roomy inside and presentable on the outside too.

Richmond is one of the most desirable areas in SW and W London. This property appears to be a great sized 3 bed 3 reception in top condition, with outside space all within a 30 minute commute to london, close to the River, Richmond Park and the district line tube.

Its also very close to the 'Alberts' area which is one of the most sought after areas of Richmond.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't spend £1 million on this house, my preference would be to live close by, somewhere like Teddington or Kew.

There is another agent on it at £1.075m so it can't be an error and must have been priced close to what others have sold for in that area recently.

When you think I've just sold a 4 bed detached house with double garage for £227, I'm also pleased I live up north! Looking at it another way, if you did buy and could generate enough equity, you too could move up north and pay cash for a massive property (that's what our neighbour did and she's now minted). Food for thought.....:cool:

Blimey Guvnor! How I'd love to be in a position to spend a million on a house.

Anyway, my own personal view probably echoes some others already aired, in that if your friend is desperate to live in Richmond purely for the prestigious address then thats fine, seems like a nice house - if however its not the be all and end all I'd move slightly further away to other equally nice areas and save a few hundred grand.

Property bee shows the initial entry at on 17 September 2008! And it was then on for £1,250,000. So it's obviously not drummed up a huge amount of interest at that price. Obviously they consider themselves to be offering a bargain by coming down to just over £1m... cannae believe it!

Or move east so you are 45/50 minutes commute from central london and get a 4 bed detached for under £300k.Nothing to do with north or south I don't think, its more a central/outer london vs most other places type of comparison

Also anyone could move to the middle of nowhere up north England or WAles or Scotland etc etc where there are less facilities and less desire to live for the masses (which obviously is a plus for some), and cash in on there more expensive property "down south". Not sure what I would do for a living though as I need to be near a major financial centre

Nearly anything inside the M25 will be expensive, but that does seem a tad excessive. Now if it was on Richmond Green......
