Would you buy this 2-bed terrace at this price?

A friend of mine has seen a nice little 2-bed terrace in Richmond, and has fallen madly in love with it. It is gorgeous, but I'm not sure about paying all that for just 2 bedrooms.
Thoughts anyone?

It does have the loft room as well - I assume even though it couldn't be advertised as a 3rd bedroom, it could be used as such?
I gasp at spending that much on any property but it is Richmond. How does it compare to other properties in the area for that price range?0 -
OMG!!!!
I moved out of London 10 years ago, so yes have lost the thread a wee bit on London house prices. But EEEKKKKKK!
Personally. You're not paying for 2 beds, because you can lots of 2 bed flats a lot cheaper. You're paying for a garden, no-one above or below you, or sharing a doorway, no communal bills, and the location.
So if all those things are worth £1m to your friend then yes, it's worth it.
I always think with property that if you should view it as what it's worth to you to live there as your home, rather than as an investment etc.0 -
Lucky person having £1m to buy a house.
It is very close to London and has a garden. They are paying for the location. It could be a prestigious part of Richmond too. I'm not familiar with Richmond.
If I wanted a place around there (or anywhere else), I would look at what else is available in the price range and see if it is good value. How long are they intending to stay?
If that is what they want and can afford it, then it is their choice. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
I know London. That's a stupid price, even for Richmond, by a factor of 2x (and I think normal prices are stupid anyway).
For £1m you can buy a 4/5 bedroom townhouse in any number of high-end Zone 2 areas.
I can't imagine what they are thinking, I believe it must be a mistake.0 -
Its very big and bright.
But wouldnt be my choice of location.
Is it worth that much more than this one?

Though when you get up to that price range I suppose 100k differences are not so big :rotfl:0 -
Seems a crazy price, if thats worth that I wonder what my dads place in W1 must be worth, Richmond is nice, but its hardly central London?

Oh I think the house you've just shown us, Jayss, is nicer than the one my friend likes.
I must say, Richmond is incredibly beautiful (probably why Mick Jagger lives there) and from Richmond Hill the view of the river is stunning.
Pawpurrs, no, Richmond isn't Central London, but it's highly desirable. There are many parts of North, West and South London which are fabulous, and highly desirable- so people will pay a premium to live there. Don't forget, many of the areas on the edge of London have better quality of living than those in Central London - and you have the added bonus of being able to reach the centre within about just half an hour. A win win situation really.0 -

A matter of opinion........Pawpurrs x
