Morning all :hello:,
MSD - hope the tooth improves it really is horrible!
Heavenleigh - Happy Birthday!!! Have a lovely day however you spend it
redruby - well done for sorting things out with your Mum. Sorry to hear about your Dad (((hugs)))
Happy Anniversary to the Trus :heartpuls have a lovey dovey day!
Well folks, I have been AWOL for a few days and a fair bit has happened... Number one I have been poorly with a stinking cold and coughing into the wee small hours so have not been sleeping. Have even taken a couple of days off work (not like me) and am only back at work today.
Number two... well I'm a little bit pregnant!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: DH and I just can't believe it!!!!!! We'd been waiting for about 3 weeks for me to start a new cycle so I could start taking the fertility treatment the doctor gave me and I was adamant that I couldn't be pregnant as I hadn't ovulated! Well it appears that I did ov it just must've done it really quietly and painlessly for once  I've been so poorly I was just about to dose myself up on Day Nurse and DH insisted that I did a pregnancy test before I took it, "just to be sure" (which caused a major row between us) so I did to "prove him wrong" and lo and behold there was the line. I've done one every day since, because I just cannot believe it!!! I don't feel pregnant yet (apart from sore boobies!) so it's a bit tentative for me. But a tentative woohoo :j:j:j:j
Anyhow, sorry for overuse of smilies... OS today includes, a pile of ironing, cooking something like egg, chips and beans for tea and putting together my homemade Christmas gifts.
Have a fab day all, I'm off to wipe this silly grin off my face before someone starts asking questions! Hugs to all in need/want xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
Congratulations Lowesy. Thats not the first time ive heard that happen when waiting to take Chlomid. Its funny I got preganancy vibes from you last post when you said you were late but ignored them. Ive still got my midwife's intuition!!!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

thanks for that. i did think of trying to get a new lid for the one i have (a mr) but i think that would probably cost as much as a new one
will try my local freecycle as well, but have noticed quite a few people asking for slow cookers lately!2011- new year, new start.

Diva - Sorry Tris is poorly. Thinking of you xx Hope you manage to get to a dentist. My poor son-in-law has trigeminal neuralgia atm, hoping it will sort itself out by Christmas! He says atm the only thing in the world he can think about is for his face to stop hurting.
Haribo - Are you ok hon?
Tru - Happy Anniversary to you and mr tru  Hope you will be warm and cosy by the end of today! I'm sure that would be the best anniversary present possible. Was looking at today's carol and realised I only know the tune of the first two lines
Thinking of you and George CRANKY xx
mioliere - nice to see you, busy lady! Hope you manage to stay warm.
Flutterby - Have a great holiday! We're flying with BA (in theory) and can't help wondering if they'll still be a going concern by the time we're due to come back in March  We'd hoped to go with Air NZ but they were too dear. So it's BA between UK and Oz, and Qantas between Oz and NZ. I have no faith whatsoever that at least one of our cases won't get lost
essex-girl - Glad you had a good time in London, and hope DD got on ok at hosp.
Very frosty out there this morning, and we're promised snow for tomorrow, I believe. Still, my DBro is in Germany and they've got a lot more there!
Just 2 more cards to write for posting, so will do those in a minute Then later I'm going to move my cookbooks (swapping them for a dofferent shelfload of books) so I can still get at them when we've got the tree upI enjoyed the pics of your bookshelves thriftlady
WM is on with DS's bedding. He has a new mattress and it's meant to be turned every week for the first 3 months, but that's never going to happen, so I hope he'll manage it every 2 weeks anyway!
Breakfast was Readybrek (central heating for kids) I couldn't face cold cereal!
Just wondering what to eat in the other days over the Christmas period. Will have to have a think. I've got braising steak in the freezer, 2 portions of battered haddock (not a patch on the haddock from the chippy, and I expect we're not meant to be eating haddock anyway, it's meant to be coley and pollock, neither of which tastes of much. I know thriftlady would recommend mackerel, but I can't bear the smell _pale_), fish fingers, a chicken, a couple of HM ready meals, and some bits and pieces.

Morning all………..((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need one.
MSD: I had a problem with a tooth in the summer. It was filled some 10 years ago and the dentist said then she did not know how long it would last. It started to become sensitive to heat and cold and then began to ache…..I have dental phobia……..so decided to try and stick it out till our annual inspection, by which time the filling had dropped out sand the tooth started to crumple…….I had to wait 2 weeks to get it out. OH was bowling so I had to go on my own. The injections were worse than the tooth coming out and they charged me £75 !!! I drove home and went to bed, gosh did I feel awful, it has taken ages for the gum to shrink back but thankfully its fine now.
No snow here although there is a bomb scare in the City this morning……so the local radio tells us…….hey ho thousands of motorists stuck in traffic jams. OH usually plays bowls at the indoor club this morning, its right near where the ‘suspect package’ is, so guess there will be no bowls today!!!
Washing machine on, having to dry the clothes inside just now, if I put them out they come in wetter than when I put them out. I did consider getting a tumble drier but decided against it, will have to see what the charges are at the local launderette to dry washing there. I hate having it on airers etc around the house, makes the air damp.
Hoping to get out for a walk this morning, its very dank and grey looking again, hope it a bit better than this tomorrow we have to go up to Leeds to collect a wall unit.
Supper tonight, the remains of Sundays chicken in yogurt sauce with rice…..
Have to shorten the second pair of jeans for DS2 ready for him to collect them. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi everyone,
Happy birthday Nelski and Heavenleigh - where are you Nelski we miss you.
Happy Anniversary to the Trus.
Congratulations Lowesy, what a lovely Christmas present.
I did my batch cooking last night - I've now got 4 portions of pigeon casserole in the freezer (yummy, no-one else likes pigeon so its all for me). I've also cooked scouse base to freeze, it will just need to be heated up with potatoes and dumplings when we want to eat it.
We did put the tree up and DH strung the lights on it but i couldn't be bothered to decorate it so I wil do it when I get home from work. We also must write the cards tonight so we don't miss second class post. I bought the stamps yesterday and had a mad moment because I bought twice as many as I need!
Hester - read your blog, I hope you are feeling a bit better - it sounds as if your place would be shut down if there was a Health and Safety inspection, you shouldn't be doing one job so long that it physically injures you!0
