    GOD DAMN HOO-RAH YOU!!!!

Sometimes a woohoo just wont do :D
Wealth is not measured by currency
  • Blimey, it's well dusty in here! Better blow those cobwebs away

OK, I've gotta do my end-of-year-review now cos I'm away over NYE so I'll start by posting up last year's review
Well this is it, end of the year. On balance, glad to see it go!

Moneywise, I've had an ok year. Two weekends away - ok so one was in England, but it was with a fab DFW'er :) Had two payrises, claimed back £469 bank charges and paid off almost £4.5k of debt. MSE definitely transformed my year - I would probably only have paid off half of that as I was coasting along not really caring too much.

Met some pretty great, and some pretty strange! people on here too, so yay MSE. Set myself a target in June to get down to £17750 owing by Dec 31st - today. I'm proud to say that I smashed that target by £511.24 :):):)

My new target is to be at £15000 by Jun 30th 2007. It'll take some doing if I move out before then as I plan to, but I'm going to give it a damn good go. Plus once I'm under £15k I can snigger at those dumb radio adverts saying there's a magic cure for debt if you owe more than £15k

I've bought myself a shiny new notebook for 2007 to list spending (yeah, that'll last about a week) and monthly totals. Determined to get going this year. I'll be turning 27 and I don't want to be in debt and miserable forever!

    Aims:

    Move out
    Hit target
    Set another target!
    Get over the ex (:()
    Pass my exams
Get a payrise for passing my course
Start making tshirts with C - Then we'll screw 'em all, etc
Get a bit fitter and healthier
Claim back some more charges - watch out Nationwide ;)
    Go out next NYE...

    Happy New Year everyone :)

Ok, so I ended last year owing £17238.76 (roughly :rotfl: ). I started my MSE journey on £21k btw.

OK, let's look at all those aims:

Move out did this, best move I ever made! got very, very lucky!
Hit target I had a June and a December target - hit the June one :D
Set another target! I'll post about my December target later...
Get over the ex (:() It took a while, but yep :j
Pass my exams Not only did I pass, I won the prize for the best marks :j
Get a payrise for passing my course Yep :D:D
Start making tshirts with C - Then we'll screw 'em all, etc Crap! No, this year C!!
Get a bit fitter and healthier A bit being the operative word... but yes!
Claim back some more charges - watch out Nationwide ;)Yep!
Go out next NYE... I'm going away for it, woooh!

Wow, I'm actually quite impressed with myself now! It all looks a bit different written down :)

Ok, so my December target was to get to under £10k. I didn't quite do it, I'm on £10970.85 (roughly :p ) which means that this year I paid off £6267.91 :j :j Ok, so I didn't meet the target. BUT, I'm not upset about it. I did a lot of very, very cool stuff this year so I'm not going to regret the extra £970.85

    This year I:
    • Moved out :j
    • Went to New York :j best place I've ever, ever been
    • Went to the Reading festival :j
    • Got over my ex and started seeing someone new - that all ended too but not badly for me ;) :j
    • Had a weekend in France with the recenter (is a word) ex :j
    • Had another UK weekend away :j
    • Reclaimed about £1k of bank charges (inc £200 last week which came off my debt :T )
    • Helped my aunt reclaim £1500 :T :T
    • Paid off 3 debts, and of the remaining 4, 3 are now under £1k :j
    • Got a fair bit of recognition at work and was in the industry magazine for my exam results :o hid that from everyone :rotfl:
    • Opened up a bit more to people and made some ace new friends
    • Tried internet dating  and lived to tell the tale :rotfl:
    • Ventured out of DFW into the Arms and the online dating discussion thread and got a bit stuck in there with some very ace people ;) :rotfl:
    • Started learning to drive
Ok, so that might not be as stellar as some people but you know what? I'm well happy with all that!

So, onto 2008. I always set 6 month targets for my money targets, so I'm gonna try to get down to £8k by June 30th, which gives me £2970.85 to pay by then which is doable. As ever, I'll go over that if I can

    Other aims:

Um yeah, better put the get fit thing in again :rotfl:
Pass my driving test and assess my car needs :D
    Go and see QOTSA woooooohooooooooooooo!
Go to at least one other gig
Reduce my debt by at least 50% through the year
Possibly claim some more charges back, from RBS this time

Um, I can't really think of anymore at the moment. There must be more stuff
Erm, meet some people in my area that actually go out in the evenings... All of my friends here are a bit too grown up so I have to wait til I have weekends away/weekend guests to wooooop it up :rotfl:

Anyway, that's enough rambling for now I think :D Thanks to everyone for their support, and have a good NYE :T and 2008 :T :T
