You wouldn't believe the amount of people that lie when asked that.
The newest one is to ask people to go and turn the main light on. If they can't then it's not working due to a power cut. Yes - this happened."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Day two with no music
An hour of bus journey = living hell. God buses are dull
Found 50p on my front step this morning, woooh! Probably me dad's, but shhhhhh
Got my payslip this morning, although I don't get paid for a couple more days. Very nice it is too, biggest bonus yet this year  :j That's going into the savings account til I have enough to clear a debt. Gonna write out my monthly plan and update my spreadsheets later!
Won $6 on poker last night and achieved lifetime ambition of saying 'flushtastic' and have it actually mean something  By lifetime I mean a week, since I started playing

Hey Peach,
Any update on the poorly MP3 player? Great news on the money you found and your work bonus - whooppee!
Don't be getting addicted to that poker! I started playing bingos to earn my £30 with quidco - and have wagered by £10 and my balance is currently £10.20 - so tempting to go back and see if I can win more! But need to leave £10.20 there until quidco payment is made.
Have a lovely evening!

Hey scottish
Mp3 player is still dead. Gonna get my dad to have a look at it this weekend, he's sometimes good with stuff like that
Do you mean that you have to leave money in accounts you open with Quidco to get paid?! It doesn't say that anywhere! I opened two accounts with Quidco, bet all the money I deposited and withdrew about twice that on both sites and zeroed my balances. Do I need to put money back in to make sure I get the cashback?
The poker site is one my ex referred me to. I deposited about £10 or £15 almost two weeks ago, won a couple of games (sheer luck, as I didn't even know the rules for ages :rotfl: ) then withdrew a bunch and left $10 for more games. Still got $9, I keep winning and losing the same money
And I came 7th in piggypoker on sunday. Getting to the final table was great until I saw that everyone else was on about 15k chips and I had 2k :rotfl: Been invited to a casino with new girl at work but there's no way I'm going, I know my limits!DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls

Sing. People look at you as though you're mad - but how far away from the truth is that anyway?
MP3 player: There are two sorts of whiry noises that come from a hard-disk. One is the one that it makes when spinning up to speed - it's like a high pitched whining noise. The other is the "click" that it makes when moving from one track to another. A load of them together give you a lower pitched whiry noise.
If you've got the second one, I'd say your HD is dead.PeachPickle wrote:Wow, exciting stuff

When I sing along to songs I generally sing the backing stuff and random yelpy noises (my favourite). Wonder how long it'd be before I got carted off? :rolleyes:ZTD wrote:MP3 player: There are two sorts of whiry noises that come from a hard-disk. Argh. Yeah, I'd say it was more the second one. Rubbish.ZTD wrote:Better life than mine.

Or ASBO'ed. For "random yelpy noises". I like that phrase. The "random yelpy noise" ASBO.PeachPickle wrote:Argh. Yeah, I'd say it was more the second one. Rubbish.
It is possible to replace the disk. (approx £60 for 2-3 times the capacity) However this depends on a number of things:
Is it a standard disk like this ->
Does it use the FAT32 filesystem? (Most disks come preformatted like this) Or if not, is there an option on your MP3 player to format the disk?
Does it store its firmware on the disk? You may have to re-download the firmware onto it.
The other solution is to buy a cheap (<£20) solid-state mp3 player and accept you have to change your songs more often - or be discriminating.PeachPickle wrote::silenced:

Hey Peach,
I'm not sure - someone (LJD1) posted this question yesterday on DFW and someone said yes, you needed to leave the money there.
I am leaving the money there just in case! However, I'll probably forget about it!

Mmmm I thought you just had to make sure you spent the deposit you were required to spend within three days. If you withdraw the money you win you don't get the bonus you were given but then that was never real money anyway. I've just reread that and i'm not sure if it makes sense! Lol!January budget
