What on earth are you talking about, if you don't have anything constructive to add ..... well you can supply and end to that sentence! or are you just trolling?
What is the point of being able to control the output of the appliance, when you don't know the pattern of usage of your tenants. If they go away for a couple of days, do you want them to keep the property at the 20C or whatever you deem allowable?
Grahamc2003's cynicism is understandable. We get people joining MSE just to post about these overpriced heaters, initially critical and then introduce the plus points. indeed I have been approached by PM to 'help' in an independent trial of these heaters.(by someone who has not submitted a post on MSE)1 -

Because we will be letting the rooms on a daily or maybe even half daily basis to therapists, the building is arranged over 5 floors, and in order not to have to race up and down stairs turning rads on and off (we are busy with our own business ourselves) we need something that is programmable that cannot be interfered with, thus costing us a small fortune with the possibilityof rooms being heated for days while they are not being used.
I am sorry if I did not make myself clear, I am definitely not representing this company, I did point out that I was looking for a cheaper alternative to these heaters (I think that they are vastly overpriced), and also that I believe that their claims about their economy are bogus, I find it hard to believe that anyone wanting to promote these heaters would do this, I had searched online, and found it hard to wade through all of the info to narrow down just the heaters which were programmable and tamper proof, I understand that some people on here may have made users suspicious of the intent of some posters, but as a newbie I thought the response I got from Grahamc 2003 was rude and totally unnecessary, his comment at the end about using glue was crass. I was making a genuine enquiry, he appears to have jumped to conclusions about me most unfairly, not exactly the welcome I would have hoped for. The newbie alert at the side of the page is obviously a waste of time.0 -
These Dimplex models have key locks, I guess they would heat the rooms quickly for the therapist and their client.

Thanks Penrrhyn, as you say not cheap but cheaper than those I had considered previously, thanks again!0

Hi, I am new to this forum and would appreciate some advice.
I am looking to replace some very old Economy 7 storage heaters with some new ones and have been listening to this column with some interest. Basically we get up in the morning, go out and no one is back on weekdays until about 4.30pm and come the evening the heat is not existant. Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase heaters that can store the heat at night and not release it during the day when we are out and then release it when we get home so it is still warm in the evening?
Many thanks in advance0 -
My parents had their old ones replaced with manual creda storage heaters and are very pleased with them.0

Yes, fan assisted storage heaters, have much better (though not complete) heat retention than ordinary storage heaters.
You can have the fan controlled by a timer so the house is warm when you arrve home.
However they are significantly bulkier and more expensive to buy than ordinary storage heaters. It's possible that if you're out all day, storage heaters and an Economy 7 tariff aren't cost-effective and you would be better with panel heaters and a competitive all-day tariff.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.1 -
Your Help please,
I have an 1850's, Rural Worcestershire, detached holiday property, I was just about to purchase 3 - Rointe K series heaters, 840mm. 990W Heaters.....
I need electric wall mounted, cost not relevant, not economy 7, size up to 1000mm wide, Frost Stat or much better still low temp stat.
So heaters will come on during cold periods when unoccupied.
I am fed up with tripping over portable oil heaters.
What genuine alternatives are there to wall mounted Rointe???
Thanking you in anticipation.0
