do you need insurance for a pre booked mot

Yes, you need insurance to drive a car on the public roads."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

In short, yes. You will be driving on the public highway to get to the MOT and so need insurance accordingly. If you Google for short term car insurance then you can get insurance for, say, 1 or 2 days to get it to the test centre and back.No trees were killed to send this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. - Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson)0

If you only want it for the trip to and from the MOT test, you could find a friend who has driving other cars (third party) with their comprehensive policy to take it to and from the garage. Quite legal, as long as the car isn't left parked on the road at any time.0

thanks guys thought as much, yes have had quotes for temp insurance
just a quick thought my insurance covers me to drive other cars that dont
belong to me 3rd party only i believe (son owns this car) would this be ok
before i pay out paid enough already for new parts already or does the actuall
car need to have insurance as well
regards buzz0 -
Check your policy details because some companies require the car that you are borrowing to have an insurance policy running on it. If your insurance doesn't require this then yes you will be fine.0

Your driving other cars will cover it ok - as mentioned, check your policy doesn't have anything in it about the other car needing to be insured (most policies don't).0 -
Isnt it only minimum by law (bodily injury only) thats covered for driving other cars?0
