    Morning all.

Bad start to this morning for me, as I fell when getting up. Have hurt my arm and jarred my back, so feeling a bit sorry for myself :(

It's quite wet and cold here, so I've also got the heating on already. We're off out to a church carol service today though, so the heat won't have to stay on all day.

Ruby, good to hear you've made up with your mum. Hope things are ok, re. your dad.

    Gammon for tea tonight.

Hope you all manage to have a good day, whatever you're doing.

((((HUGS)))) to those who need them.

Hello folks - haven't posted for a while but have been thinking of you :hello:.

Well, we exchanged contracts on our house yesterday and move on Friday:beer:

As we are moving to Scotland, and the legal system is different there, we weren't able to put in an offer on the place we've seen there until contracts were exchanged here:eek:. Fingers crossed all goes through for it fairly soon. We will stay with lovely DD and her boyfriend in their flat north of the border until then- luckily it's big! Our stuff is booked to go into storage so it'll just be DH, me and our 2 doggies.

Good luck to all others in the process of moving/ selling.

Morri$$ons deal - yes, we got one and it was delicious. Haven't had the soup yet though.

(((hugs))) to those feeling under the weather or looking after unwell littlies. Also hugs to folks who are feeling a bit down or have a lot on their minds.

Off to have 2nd cup of tea. Have made a list but haven't started on today's 'action stations' yet

ed to add - sorry to read about your fall pipkin. Hope you feel better soon
  • Morning everyone.
Bitter cold here but not had to put the heating back on yet after the couple of hours first thing. I love my cavity wall insulation - it has made a big difference here. Light snow predicted on Friday :j although I bet we end up with just sleet.
Kids are quiet at the mo playing with playdoh so having a quick surf.
Not much happening today. Got a visitor this morning and then nursery this afternoon so will try and get some housework done this afternoon. Need to do some baking, fancy trying a swiss roll but need to see if I can pilfer a tin from my mum!

Redruby - I am soooooo glad you made up with your mum. Sorry you've not had some good news about your dad though. Hugs to you xxxx

Tru - hope you get some hot water at last.

wmf - enjoy your house move - hope it's stress free ;)

pipkin - hugs to you xx

nmlc - well done on the weightloss. Very inspiring :D

sunnyday - :rotfl: @ eating the whole trifle - well done you :T

Haribo - Hope you are OK.

right kids are now getting into mischief so had better dash. Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to those that need them.

    Morning

Just a quickie from me as i'm in work already. Had to get a lift in this morning as the radiator hose has perished on the car and it's leaking water everywhere - hopefully DH will get it fixed for me today I hate relying on others!

I feel a bit sluggish this morning and my good intentions of getting the slow cooker on for dinner went out of the window - I'll regret it later!

I did have to giggle at the fact that it was only N9eav who was suprised that Sunnyday had eaten the whole trifle.....the rest of us being women know we're all quite capable of that somedays :rotfl:

Can't believe its only 10 days til santa comes....santa's little helper better get her finger out and wrap some prezzies:rolleyes:

    Have a good day

    G'dday everyone,

DGS is still here, taking him back on Thursday on the train. It's a scorcher here again this week. No respite for us. Took DGS to the movies yesterday. Watched Planet 52. Not too bad. Today a friend came over, she's got a little girl his age, so they played in the pool and stayed for lunch. I thought he'd be sound asleep by now but he's laying there on his bed watching a gecko on the ceiling telling me every few seconds where it's moved to. I tell a lie, he's asleep now. :D

Plans are to do the floors tomorrow & do some shopping in the arv. I don't have much to get but I want to go to the library as I have a few books to collect. Reading material for the return journey on Thursday. I've got quite a bit to do after DGS has gone.

Hope you all have a happy day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good morniing all:hello:

sunnyday - Well done on the trifle - DH and I once ate an Asda Banana and Mandarin one between us and thought that was quite an achievement!

Diva - So glad you heard from Tris yesterday x

redruby - So glad you and your Mum are ok now,and that house sale/purchase is going ahead, but sorry there is bad news re your Dad x
wmf - Welcome back! Hope all goes well with the move!
tired mum - glad Lakeside wasn't too hectic! My DS is waiting til Christmas Eve to go to Bluewater for his Christmas shopping as it's always really quiet then - I'm not sure if it's because most people have done all their shopping by then or because everyone thinks it'll be really busy so they don't go - either way it's quite handy :rotfl:
twink - How nice to "see" you! Glad everyone's okay!

Bitsy beans - I bought a Swiss roll tin many years ago and used it for its intended purpose exactly once - since then it's been a handy, small-sized baking sheet. My DD said she did exactly the same with hers! I saw a recipe for a low-fat chocolate roulade so may have to think about buying a new one.....
Tru -Thanks for this morning's carol, which made me start singing a Melanie song from the 60s or early 70s (anyone else remember Melanie? Come on, a couple of you older ones must :D) - the song's called "Animal Crackers" and she finishes it off by singing "Oh, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la la la!" and bursting into giggles.

Smoky - :rotfl:at today's cartoon - thanks for going to the trouble!

Rosy Red - Sorry your viewer didn't turn up - that's so rude

Hope those going to Carol services and Nativity Plays this week enjoy it :) I remember wiping my eyes at the one my DD2 was in, and her teacher saw me and said wryly "I used to cry at Nativity Plays too, until I was a teacher!"
Which reminds me, "Flint Street Nativity" is on ITV 3 twice over Christmas so must, must, remember to watch it at least once and preferably record it too, it's sooooo good!

Not sure what I'll be doing today, though probably putting up the tree at some point as DS got the decs out of the loft last night. Having trouble with my left shoulder today - it was aching at the front last night and kept waking me up, and now all the muscles around it are aching too, so have taken some ibuprofen and will try to avoid raising my left arm today or doing anything that involves putting my shoulder at an odd angle :p so dinner will definitely NOT be anything that needs mashed potatoes.

((((HUGS)))) to all who need some and apologies to the people I haven't mentioned individually xx

Morning all, and a dank dark dreary very cold one it is here, we have just been out for our walk and boy was it raw!!!

This morning the postie knocked the door with a parcel, horror of horros it was from someone we have not heard from for ages, so had not even sent a card. oooopppppssss.......fortunately I has a couple of spares so posted it off quick this morning, followed with an email.........

I have an appointment with the teckkie chappy who made my bridge, I go every 6 months. I must say although it was expensive it is far better made than the NH one I had whch broke after 6 months.....I have had this one 18 months and it still looks like new.

DS2 brought me 2 pairs of jeans to shorten when he came Friday, so I need to crack on with them, he is bringing the children Saturday as he takes them back to their Mother for the holiday.

    Have a good day.................
