I'm just toying with the idea of ordering our cravats for the best man and ushers at mo.
Thing is, I'm having a multicoloured wedding (!) I'm having 4 colours of gerberas as my main flowers (my bouquet will just be white ones but the colours will be reflected in thin strands of ribbon holding my bouquet together) and to match I'm having 4 coloured bridesmaids. The ushers and best man will match them according to height.
Example:
B/M4 B/M3 B/M2 B/M1 ME OH BM USH1 USH2 USH3
Yellow Orange Pink Red White White Red Pink Orange Yellow
Some people have sed this is crazy but they are coming round. It will look very colourful and very me! I'm playing down the style of dresses and suits so its not too OTT and using silver to go with it on the tables and BM’s footwear etc so it wont be WOAH! Lol! I want the colours to be the main focus on the bridal party and the flowers. Everything else is going to be very low key! Even the style of the BM dresses.
My M-I-L saw a set up of the flowers for a demo at a wedding fair and sed people were stopping and admiring it. She sed it looked amazing yet so different to the status quo! I decided long ago this was going to be my set up but seems a lot of people are getting the same idea. Lol!
So yeah. All this waffle is for a reason, shall I order the cravats just to triple check the colours go well together? Don’t want to pay £400 for dresses to see they look hideous together! I think this is a good idea! I can use my O/D for the time being and I will be getting the dresses in March anyhow. Just want to make sure. Think ive had so many friends look at me weirdly when I say the colours etc that ive become a bit self conscious of my own imagination! lol!Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
Oh, gosh, you confused me now with the colours. But I can see what you want to achieve, the colours need to go together. But do you want to have the same shade for the dresses and cravats? As you might not be able to buy the same shade, and it might look a bit weird? Shouldn't you buy the dresses first and than match the cravats to them? Can you return them? Are they on sale now? Can you get the bridesmaid dresses on sale now as you want to buy them anyway around March? Ok, sorry,so many questions but it's your fault, you made me think how I would do it

hahaha loads of questions. :rotfl::rotfl:
But do you want to have the same shade for the dresses and cravats? yep same shade which i can get from Dessy in the US. they have loads of different bridesmaid dresses in the same colours so matching wont be a problem.
Shouldn't you buy the dresses first and than match the cravats to them? i want to be sure the colours go together without spending a fortune as cant return nething. i dont mind spending £70 to find the colours are pants then going back to the drawing board but to spend £400 on dresses to find they dont match will be soul destorying.
Can you return them? Nope
Are they on sale now? yep all on sale now.
Can you get the bridesmaid dresses on sale now as you want to buy them anyway around March? havent got the dosh to get the dresses until march. so they need to wait.Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
i spose one tiny bit on info which may have answered all them questions is that the cravats and dresses are all coming from Dessy so all the colours are exactly the same

Sounds like a fun colour scheme Keza!
I'd probably buy the cravats first, or ask if they have sample swatches?!0 -
That's ok, I would be really worried if I wouldn't be able to match them. I would be worried though that they stop making the dresses in the same shade by March, but that's only me-I'm usually stressing myself about small details:). I guess if they don't go together, you can just resell them on Ebay.0
