Nestle would get my vote everytime, why oh why aren't they on the list?

    Here's why I would vote for them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9_boycott http://www.babymilkaction.org/pages/boycott.html

PS I voted for Tesco (completely obliterated the town I live in), but only cos I missed BSkyB & The Sun.

We simply did big names in certain categories - we didnt put manufacturers in there

As for the Sun - we have seen unusual voting patterns and are aware of lobbying on some Liverpool based football websites. We will allow the vote to stand, but when we announce the result in next weeks email will note this has happened - which I think is the right solution.

PS For the new poster above who wants to see me disappear, the best way is to make that happen for you is not to use the website.

  • I'd just imagine that with voters coming in en masse from a different forum with a single agenda, the results would be somewhat skewed?

Not skewed surely. Just an indication that there are a lot of people prepared to take the time to vote for a particular product - democracy in action I would have thought.

Even if there was a concerted campaign on some football websites, people still have free will and will only vote according to their conscience and feelings.

Lets not forget the tragedy surrounding Hillsborough, and the fact that this 'newspaper' reported that Liverpool fans stole from the dying, urinated on policeman and attacked a policeman while he was giving a fan the kiss of life. All of this was printed under the banner "THE TRUTH", and all of it was complete fabrication.

If there is a campaign in this poll, then good luck to whoever is organising it.

While I don't object to it - it is certainly a skew, as the voting is coming from a separate group of people and a disproportionate number as would normally be expected in a statistical random sample (not that the poll is one - but this certainly takes it further away)

As for Hillsborough as a North West of england man who spent three weeks in Walton hospital in May 1989 at the age of 17 in the same ward as many of the victims, my own memories are very vivid, real and personal - of the many players who came to visit and the tradgedy of what the disaster had done to many.

  • The results are not skewed. That lying rag deserves to be shown as the company that should disapear because it has had the most votes (36% when i last looked). If we had a general election and a party got enough votes (for whatever reason) to form a government then that is what would happen. The fact that it is 20 years since the Hilsboro' tragedy and people still feel strongly enough to register their disgust at there sickening lies proves the strength of feeling.
  • I'm a long term reader of this board ( thanks for so many good tips!) but I think my username will give away why I voted for the Sun. I think Martin is perfectly fair in his summation- the poll is skewed in that it is not random but as someone else mentioned it reflects the depth of feeling and if people feel strongly enough to come here and vote tht's a perfectly valid reason.
