Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Monday 14th December. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning all,

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Diva, I hope you have a great day xx

And Happy Birthday to PurpleIvy Hope you both have great days xx

Well its been ages since I started the daily, normally fast asleep now, I went up to bed at 11 and slept till 3, and have been awake ever since worrying :o Can't do too much as the others are still in bed, so thought I would start the daily.

Hopefully we will get a moving date today or tomorrow, and can get cracking on with things.

I am off to work today, Little dog is going to OH's dad for the day, she cant be left for more than 2 hours, she has seperation issues , still I am only working till wednesday and I am then off until after Xmas.

Dinner tonight will either be some kind of fried rice, or gnocci, I have enough food till last us until Thursday 18th, and a delivery coming from sainsbugs on the 22nd, (assuming we are still here ) so will need to go out and do a little shop at some point.

Thanks for all the coments yesterday, I know my mum is under huge pressure at the moment, so I have decided just to leave things for a few days and see how it goes, not sure what else I can do really.

Going to have a warm drink and see if I can sleep again, its very very cold here, sharp frost on everything, wrap up warm today.

Take care all xx

    HSlights.gifMorning OS friends!

Christmas QOTD:'May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace, The gladness of Christmas give you hope,The warmth of Christmas grant you love. ~ Author Unknown

hgballoons.gifPurpleIvy – Hope you have a really good day hon. present.gif
Lisa and DevonTrish - welcome2.gif Good to have you all with us. I enjoyed your posts.
Tru and Meanmarie – My decorations are still up in the loft I have to admit.
Sistercas – I am glad you liked my cards, thank you.
SunnyGirl – glad to hear your father is home.
Molly – hope your daughter is feeling better and good luck with the Occupational Health review. Will be sending positive vibes.
Haribo - Where are you hon? Missing your posts.. Hope you had a great weekend.
Redruby – I am so sorry you are in this impossible situation. I think letting things simmer down is wise and then maybe drop a note through in a few days?
I am guessing you are up as you have posted the sticky, but thought I would post and then come back and read yours.. :rotfl:

xmastree.gif Have opened my cards but not my presents as I will do that when my OH gets back from work at lunchtime. I will then also have to wear my sequined tiara with the ‘Birthday Princess’ badge on it that I have worn every birthday for about 10 yrs! No sign of Tris yet but our mutual friend is online and she says he might not be up to ringing or getting online as he is really not well.

xmastree.gifHave a hospital appt today so just had to pee in a bowl to take some with me.. What a way to start a birthday.. giggle.gif

xmastree.gif Dinner tonight is going to be cottage pie with lots of cheese on top of the mash. Lunch will be HM bread with goats cheese and organic tomatoes that were reduced in Sainsburys to just 10p. My OH wisely bought 4 packs so we will make a tomato pasta sauce out of most of them and freeze it.

xmastree.gif WM and TD are on as even though we did manage to hang some washing out yesterday, it didn’t really dry.

Ok, so I hope everyones week starts well, and that anyone feeling poorly feels better soon. With love and light for all.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

    Happy Birthday MSD.
    Hugs to Redruby.
Hubby's twisted his back, but isn't working till later in the week, when he's doing some furniture shifting for a friend so hopefully he'll be ok by then. I managed to achieve most of my objectives this weekend, despite being interrupted regularly by the in-laws & their crisis.
I'm off to work soon, hopefully it will be peaceful there, lol.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
    With a corncob pipe
    And a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
    He was made of snow
    But the children know
How he came to life one day

    Morning :santa2:

    Happy Birthday Diva :bdaycake:
My decs are up :j Well, most of them, still some finishing touches to do. The house was freezing when I got up, but soon warmed up when I put the heaters on. I'm still wrapped in a blanket though  Hopefully the plumber will be here today (he ordered the parts but won't know if they're in til 8am). If not, he'll definitely be here tomorrow.

RedRuby, I can't offer much help I'm afraid. If I end up in the middle of something, I tend to say something like "If you two want to make yourselves miserable, carry on. I'll sit back and watch, but don't come crying to me." That's the polite version, I don't think the way I say it in real life would be allowed on here :D

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

PurpleIvy bday2.gif Happy Birthday to you as well xx

Had a palaver with the keyboard this morning as it wouldn't work at all  Fortunately we had a spare in the cupboard upstairs so I can come on here & Facebook - what would I have done otherwise :rotfl:

Dust & vac through the house today also need to clean the internal doors, empty the bins, mop downstairs & the bathroom & have a sort out of the bathroom cabinet too. I'm going to the library this afternoon which I'm looking forward to as 4 books that I ordered have come in. They are from last weeks thread on OS Cookery books so I'm trying before I buy any of them :money:

Lunch is a tub of mixed veg soup I found at the back of the freezer yesterday and dinner is good old spaghetti bolognaise :D
