That is a good plan radish as we are in month 6 next month so I should be at the halfway point, its really exciting at least I know I am nearly halfway there 2010 is going really quick because we are counting down the days to pay day every month (this is a new thing for us, we normally just spent whatever whenever), just need to make sure we stay focused for the next few months and we should meet our goal. :j:j

    Total Debt: [STRIKE]£24,359.79[/STRIKE] £16,452
    debt reduced by 32%
    Debt free date: May 2019

Not quite completely reformed I still want, want, want all the time my current obsession is the dining table it takes me all my time not to spend money. I'm probably going to have a shock to the system when I am debt free cause I will still not be able to just spend whatever I want, there is not enough money in the world. I feel like the equivalent of an alcoholic even when you stop drinking you are never fully recovered and have to be careful for the rest of your life, that will be me:rotfl:.

Thats a shocking thought, but probably true we will be discussing the best deals in pre-paid funerals :rotfl:

Just got back from yet another extra shift that is three weeks in a row of working 6 days a week, but I'm easing off for a bit agin I seem to do these little spurts of working myself into the ground and then take a break completely, then do loads of shifts again, but hey ho its working as long as this debt is gone by the end of the year I will be a very happy chappy. Still working on hubby - I really want all of his bonus for debt repayments, it would give us another really good month if he would. I really want to see the end of the santander card and the overdraft, then we will really be down to one debt, because the car loan is going to end in november and its 0% so needs no real managing. It is getting quite exciting I feel like we have suddenly turned a corner, not spending stupid money is getting easier (big purchases are still just as tempting) and it does not seem such an effort to live within our means :D

Ooh, you sound chipper, Emmie! :D (Glad to see I'm not the only one on here at this ungodly hour! ;))

I think you guys are doing really well and the fact that you can see that it's having an effect and that you have realistic goals mean that it's pretty easy to remain focused. Perhaps when you have got DF you can set yourself some saving goals to help keep the momentum going? You could have 'proper' savings and then an increased DIY budget if you like?

    Nighty night!

wow we are all committed money savers, checking the mse forum before bed, I was not expecting to get any replies at that time of the morning.

In answer to your question I have not had a day off today, actually asked to work bank holiday for the extra cash, june pay day will then be a good pay day with two bank holidays in may and three extra shifts.

Is it me or is this year going really really quickly?

Ye gods, yes! I worked today as well as it means time-and-a-half pay for today and yesterday, which is desperately needed as I have the car insurance to pay for next month, and a load of stuff to buy for my nail course.

Hope your evening is good. :)
