  • Thanks soappie for the recipe - have only ever had venison in a burger type of thing at a game show. But they have been snowed under with them so will give it a go - as long as there's no plucking or removing innards etc. Though I am fantastic at sick/blood/guts or traumas of any kind with humans, just can't do dead things. They should be 'pretty' and ready for the oven!! LOL

    Summermoon wow that was lucky!
Toots - Thats where my friend had her Disney themed 18th last summer, it is byoootiful, and should definitely be on your list. And thankyou as always for supporting me.

Me and the boyf had our xmas today rather than wait til Thursday, he got me the most gorgeous hand painted wine glasses. They are so perfect, and a complete surprise. :D And we went out for a very nice meal.

    Love and hugs to everyone!

Unrelated question - do I want a sewing machine? I have never been able to sew. I had lessons at school but spent a year making a hideous skirt which was then turned into bedding by the hamster (best place for it). I've also had a bit of a 'can't let it beat me' feeling. DH wants to get me something for Christmas. Do I ask for one of the mini sewing machines you can get e.g. HERE? What can you do with them? Would it just be a white elephant?

Oooh that's my first posh link!!!:rotfl:
If you are seriously thinking about getting one find a local sewing machine shop. They usually have machines taken in part exchange from people upgrading and some of them run training sessions. You will end up with a far better machine than that 'thing' in the ad. Which means you will be far more likely to use it.

Many thanks to all for the congratulations. I enjoyed the glass of wine, but I know I will end up awake in the early hours (I always do when I have alcohol)

kazm I have had the tissuing too - can be very uncomfortable and painful if they dont catch it quick enough - fingers crossed that the blood results will be good - hopefully you will notice a difference yourself in the meantime. So you have a month to get all the jobs done and the house spotless - thats do-able:rotfl::rotfl: Good luck with DD and NO painting for you!!
It's OK I decided to make fudge instead but its not going well

Orange cake is VAST (8 egg mixture, made in an angel food cake tin). It's to go in the freezer so I can take it back to my parents for Christmas.
Think I might take a little detour on the way to visit mum at Christmas :D

Evening....gawd I'm shattered. Had my first 'meeting' at work today, luckily I didn't chair it but OMG it was over 2 and a half hours long and a 70 mile round trip and it finished me off. Came home straight to bed and then was awoken for a chippy tea, which wasn't nice at all, chippy standards have declined round here, I digress, half unconscious I tried to eat it then ordered back to bed by hubby.

I'm awake now but urgh, today was gruelling.
Considering what you have been through can you not take it a bit easier at work, it wouldnt pay them for you to overdo it and have to go off again.

Lady-Lib - I scan posts most of the time and my kids say I dont have a memory I have a sieve, and one that only catches the bits I'm interested in at the time :o

OK NEED HELP - theres a surprise

Decided to make White Chocolate and cranberry fudge for DD's class teachers this year and so far its not going well.

First lot binned when I discovered that the condensed milk was well out of date and far too thick to start with.

Second lot, has to have butter (a little), sugar (a lot) and condensed milk melted slowly over a gentle heat until sugar dissolved. I cant get the sugar to dissolve. The recipe says it can be made in 20 mins + chilling time. I've been a lot longer than that and have taken it off the heat while I have a cuppa and catch up on here.

    Any ideas/suggestions anyone?

    Cheers
    Kaz

Oooh piggers you are mean. There I was gloating thinking I haven't got an attic or a garage or understairs cupboard so doesn't involve me and you throw in ANY cupboard!!! Am hyperventilating as I type!

I have an entire house to tidy.. and half of it needs decorating too!!!

Believe me.. my house is probaby messier and needing far more attention than just about everyones here.. it has taken me 8 YEARS to get to the point where I have a visible floor in most rooms and a clear work surface to prepare a cuppa on in the kitchen.

And if anyone doesn't believe that I have pics somewhere of our old house and it was dire!
