Zoe.. Glad you got something sorted.. I would have gone.. if I'd promised them and I had to crawl on my hands and knees I'd have managed it. Most taxi drivers are happy to help bundle wheelchairs etc.. if you ask when you ring them they are very helpful on occasion... for future reference. Have a ring round a few places.. you can hire those mobility scooter things.. if you were here we have one sitting doing nothing.. and my uncle has one he is selling.. typical isn't it?!

hope you have a fabulous time.. and they are suitably impressed.. this is one of those moments as a child they will remember forever.. you doing this huge thing for them.

BUT.... when you get home.. you do NOTHING!!! you rest, because you'll be shattered.. and whatever needs doing will be there tomorrow and in 10 years time and when you are long since gone.. it'll need doing again.

The OT and physio will give their opinion as a 'professional' but you know what you are capable of and what would be too much.. just be sensible!!!

Just catching up on the old thread, not been online over the weekend.
I have had such an annoying carppy naff day today. Lots of little things have gone wrong and I am already an emotional mess.

Major rant alert - if you are sick of me whining skip this post
The final straw was a phonecall from DH. He has his own business and last June he and his co-directors were approached by another much larger company interested in buying them out. The figures they bandied about werent mega huge but we could have paid off our mortgage. They flew people on from the US several times, it all was going well, we (our business) have shelled out thousands on legal advice and acquisition negotiation bla ba bla. One of my DH's codirectors is currently in the US meeting with them. Well apparently yesterday they said that actually they arent interested in buying any more.

We are absolutely gutted. I know we have lost something that we never had but more than that we have lost the dream and the hope has been a bit taken away as well. I keep telling myself we were lucky to even have thought we might have the opportunity, but to think we really would have it and then have it taken away is horrible. Sorry, I know I sound like a spoilt brat.

DH has spent last few weeks working on a project for the prosepctive buyer and now they arent even going to pay them for it. (Yes I know the stupid idiots should have got payment terms on aper but they didnt. Men:mad::mad:!!)

    Sorry but :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I will catch up after school I promise and I hope everyone is have a better day than I seem to be having.

Oh I suppose I should say on the plus side the Sally Army were playing carols at Morrisons and it was absolutely magical, made me all teary (I will cry at anything at the moment :rotfl:)

  • Hugs Jill. You must be very disappointed. Don't worry about ranting here - noone gets uset with you for letting off steam.

Boodle back a bit late but in my HHC I
emptied the dryer, refilled it & put some wetter washing on the airer.
Emptied the diswasher, cleaned filters and arms & put it and wm on clean cyles.
    Reassembled the cooker.
Topped up the water in the expresso machine.
Cleaned the small appliances & the large ones.

So that's two more lines off my list now.

JillD - Could you not go tonight if you dosed up on pain killers, its what I'd do?
thanks but I am already taking paracetamol, codeine and nurofen at various intervals so I think if I take any more I will just be a total zombie!
I didnt go in the end on Friday and did feel a bit like I missed out, but I saw them all yesterday at the children's party and they said it was a very tame night because I wasn't there!!! Am feeling very loved and needed as they said a couple of them wanted to go dancing but they didnt feel it was worth it without me and they wished I'd been there to drag them along :D
I said we should just do it again in the New Year. Not sure why they think I am such a party animal ....

Anyway headache still niggling away but it is definitely stress. Maybe once this week is over it will settle down a bit.

I have sent all DS' paperwork back to the hospital, we have his appointment date and I have arranged childcare and school runs for the other 2. I have told DH so he knows and is happy to come (which is great so he can hear it straight from the horse's mouth).
I have decided to not think about it any more until then. I am not going to google various special needs sites nor look up special needs chapters in any books that I have. Just going to enjoy things as they are for now and have a lovely time off school away from their pressures and playground politics. Because hard work as he is , he isstill tremendous fun , and his favourite thing in the world is just to be at home with Mummy and Daddy. So that is what we will do :D:D:D
