Jill - that sounds mega disappointing... you don't sound anything like spoilt. It is shocking they won't pay for a project they initiated. I hope things get straightened out for your DH.

I didn't manage much in my HHC. I got caught up in an energetic game of hide and seek then the baby wanted to feed  :D I did manage to:
Put a load in the washer
    Clear lunch dishes
    Put washed dishes etc away
Love and compassion to all x

  • No flying as yet as had to drive to DD1 school (70 mile round trip) to bring her home as was violently sick. Have now decluttered her to bed and am having a warming cup of tea. Will wait till DD2 gets home then go to bank etc.

  • Just had phone call from DS he is defiantely being deployed to Afghan :(. Good news it's not until April and in January he will be back in Yorkshire at Catterick to do the deployment training so will see him every week until then. I tried to sound upbeat and happy for him as I know he's desperate to go; but I'm gutted and just sitting here at work wanting to cry.
Sorry for post Pigpen as it's not remotely flying

Oh Jill, don't feel bad about ranting on here, I know it's been great therapy for me when I've needed to chat.

As for the deal falling through, it's completely normal to be disappointed, especially if you've invested a lot of time and effort into it. Big hugs hun.

    And hugs to carlsberggal too.

  • Jill - You don't sound at all spoilt - that was a terrible thing to do! I would be foaming at the mouth, if it had happened to my OS...*hugs* You rant away - that's not a bad thing, it's a good thing! Crappy contractors for taking away the job like that... Is there anyway you can get them to hand over the money?

Zoe - it's fantastics that you managed to get out of the house and I hope you had a lovely time! *gives awesome hug*

Oh, and Rosepink - the Transformers and Sherlock Holmes evenings aren't together - one'll be just after X-Mas, the other some time during January. I think they'd go together like tom. sauce and ham and crumpets. Really shouldn't work, but do, IMHO
  • hugs carlsberggal - rant all you want!

Plus - visit to hospital hearing centre with BF. Found he has some hearing loss, but not as much as managing in everyday situations would suggest - probably due to having repeated glue ear in childhood. He has to teach his brain to pay attention to the signals it is receiving. The therapist was quite happy for us to try with music theory work, as she said it is almost the same as the work they do. Will be quickly looking for some nice posh headphones for a Christmas present tomorrow. ;)

And did the world's quickest house viewing. Parked car, BF got out, took one look, spoke briefly to the OT at the top of the flight of steps leading down to the front door, came back to the car, got in and drove off. 3 minutes from parking to leaving.

Speaking of BF, the poor soul - he really is a shadow of his previous self - he can't be more than 9 stone, all his muscles have gone and he isn't that much bigger than the DDs now. That's probably somewhere in the region of 4 stone lost. He now looks like he wouldn't be out of place in his brother's band, rather than one of the roadies.

So other than the driving, he's not allowed to do anything. Sent him off to read a fishing magazine in bed after lunch and I have been buzzing around doing the list, especially as the star has brought his vacuum cleaner up from his place, so I don't have to worry about it until after Christmas :D:D:D

All busy today. But he's back instead of becoming a swine flu statistic, so that's what matters.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
