toots - doing the starts shouldn't be responsible for you getting behind with your own lists. It won't kill us to wait (says she who has no chance of getting any stars this week :o). I'm glad all your workmen have finally finished, and hope you have a bit of peace and quiet to enjoy your flat being so lovely!
  • Hi everyone,
Thank you everyone for your cards and to LL for being postie! They all arrived today!
Sorry I've been AWOL all week basically because the lists have gone completely up the spout! I think I may as well give up until after Christmas. Just about everywhere is covered in bags of presents, wrapping paper, decorations etc etc i've no hope of getting a duster or Hoover anywhere near any room for a while! My mission tomorrow tho is to try to get most of the presents wrapped and into bags and all receipts sorted. I've got a couple more sock monkeys to finish making too.
We did finally get the tree up today so it does now feel a bit more festive now! Will try to pop back tomorrow with my own list for the rest of the week!

Must write a list! Done very little today apart from cooking tea and having a snooze!

    Here we go
    wrap presents
    write cards
check presents- do I need any more??
    post cards and parcel (Monday)
    tidy bedroom
hoover lounge (carpet needs cleaning but it will wait until after Xmas)
cut underlay and replace missing bit by front door (cat 'accident')
food shopping (remember to use vouchers)
    clean out car (it's disgusting)
organise stuff to take to Mum's (Tuesday)
help DD unpack her boxes (she moved back in)
help DD get motivated to look for a new job
    sort out stuff in wardrobe
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

Grr, just hit something and lost a post!

Chilli jam is ok but not jelly enough yet -not sure if it'll set more overnight but if not i believe i can reboil it tomorrow?!

Will also make fudge and rocky road tomorrow for friend coming monday, then another lot to make wed for friend we're seeing Xmas eve.

Haven't really done anything else, think we'll write off last week's lists and start again. At the very least tomorrow need to hoover, clean bathroom, wash towels, clean kitchen and wrap lots of prezzies! Also do the fresh tuna for lunch as we needed comfort food tonight so got a takeaway :)

Very tired so off to bed soon. Thanks for all the vibes for dh's family, he is coping a bit better now and we've got a bit more info. More tests soon.

:DPillion, really hope your DS is ok and well on the road to recovery. xxx

Well I didn't go to the party, hubby went to visit a friend of ours whose in a wheelchair and he couldn't get down down ramp out of his house so hubby got his essentials sorted and then went on to the party.

He rang me with ongoing weather reports and after watching great big gopping snowflakes land here I decided doing an 80 mile round trip was not such a good idea afterall in this weather.;)

So I'm at home, in my jammies, watching The Wizard Of Oz with my girls, as Sky has gone kaput.....must be the snow.

Anyone who has seen my facebook will have an idea of how unchristmassy I've felt ....but....I have to say what with the snow and 'Dorothy'...I'm starting to feel like its happening.:D :rudolf:

For anyone interested, Aldi have some cast iron cookware on sale tomorrow, casseroles, grills and shallow pans....reports are they are very good quality ala Le Creuset....I may go for a shufty, for research purposes Greenbee;):p

Don't even THINK about it ! You've got lots of other things to do... if you've finished your Christmas preparation AND completed all the lists, you can either spend some time with your family OR get some more stuff photographed and listed on ebay. :D

... and you'd be doing her a favour toots... she'd be able to check that her brain was still in full working order after her demanding days at work :p

Suppose I should go to bed...

    Morning everyone

I've managed to finish the DR - its looking presentable for Xmas now thank goodness, I've also wrapped ALL the pressies and put up the decs [kidies are now talking to me] The house looks like a bomb site but I'm going to tackle a room a day starting tomorrow [bathroom] and take it from there. As long as downstairs and the bathroom is ok then the bedrooms can go hang! I'm working next week up to and including Xmas Eve [only a couple of hours each day] I also have to do a food shop for myself and for an elderly friend and neither can be done online as we both need stuff that I can get fom the deli counter or that I can pick up and feel.

Hope you are all ok - see you on the new thread
