Yes you can.
Are you using a digi box or freeview built into TV?
Sorry read you post properly now. Yes should still be the answer. If you have a scart which carries an o/p from your TV plug it into video then the you need to select that i/p on the video e.g. AV1We all evolve - get on with it0 -

Yes you can,
The is no such thing as a digital TV,the TV is analog,it's the signal that you recieve & is converted by the TV/Sky/Freeview ect that is Digital.0 -
Oh,have you retuned the TV (RF) or useing a SCART lead? Many STB/TV's will need to be connected by the latter.0

Hi thanks to both of you for replying. I get your point spike 7451 about the signal being digital and not the tv so thats a start lol. Im not very good with abbreviations. Its got freeview built into it. Ive got a scart cable in it from one to the other and there s only the one connection in the tv for it. I cant get the video to show anything about it being on av and when i press input on my tesco technika tv out of the options shown eg dvt, av, scart, tv etc i can only get a picture when the tv s on dvt, is that right ? Yes ive retuned the tv several times today lol using a scart lead. I ve even tried a new scart lead but its as tho its not working and the tv says scart no signal and no pic Grr0

Try connecting the SCART to AV 1 on the VCR & AV1on the TV. AV1 is switched automatically so when you turn on the VCR,The channel on the TV should change to it automatically (well.it does on mine)
Is this the back of your TV?
