Can someone clarify the cashback procedure? Is it straightforward? Do they pay up quickly? The whole amount or is it staged like OSPS?

    Thanks
  • zain,
from what I've read it's one cashback cheque after being with the contract for about 2 months (ie enough time to get your first bill and send it off).
...and then the window licker said to me...

Hi Zain, I took a deal with them in July 04,
    1. paid whole amount on ordering phone,
    2. phone arrived next day,
    3. bill arrived from t-mobile,
    4. sent that by recorded delivery to forward cellular,
    5. they as agreed paid me within 28 days,
    6. I now have 240x net any time and 50 texts a month for my daughter and 1 nokia 3100 which cost me I think about £90.00 for the whole deal but since then they have been even cheaper, but hey I'm happy saves my phone bill she uses her phone and I can moniter all calls through the T-Mobile site so I know who she's calling and when. :)

hope this clarifys it a bit better for you
a please & thank you is all it takes

Wish I'd heared of Fwdcellular earlier!
Signed up with OneStop PS on Orange just b4 Xmas.
By the sounds of it chances of getting cashback from them is a bit of a lottery.

Missus is gonna kill me if I don't get the Cashback!
Wonder if they'll like that sort of publicity?

I have bought 1 sim free phone and 2 sim cards from forward cell and found them to be fine. I think it is a small company maybe even a one man band but they seem reliable.

As regards OSPS PLEASE follow their instructions TO THE LETTER on gaining cash backs if you do you should be fine - but if not beware.

As posted by me earlier check with them every step of the way, get the persons name each time you ring - dont email its a waste of time. Check which bill you need to send before it arrives, they will say something like signed up 11 Oct you need to send the bill that is dated after 10 Feb - for 4 month point. When the bill arrives ring them again and say - on ....date Joe Bloggs told me to send the bill dated ........ I am just confirming this is correct. One again get their name. Send a covering letter with your bill, the small slip of paper they send you orginally and quote both persons you spoke to. IE as advised by Joe Blogs at 6pm on .... (date) and as confirmed by Mary Blogss at 6:30 pm on ...(date) I am sending you this bill to claim my 4 month (as appropriate) cash back. I will call you in 7 days to ensure all is in order.

Send it guaranteed mid-day next day delivery to arrive Mon-Fri. This costs about £4 but if you are getting £80 cash back each time it is worth it.

If you do this you should be OK.

Hope this helps. I did this for me and other half and worked OK.

I am 50/50 about OSPS as I got my cash but there customer services is crap. It appears once you have taken out the contract they are not that bothered about you.

I think I will go for Forward Cellular next time.

Thanks for your input Trev. Will heed yer advice!

Personally I think there should be some more controls on these cashback contracts. OSPS must be making money from the operator's so why do they make it so bloody difficult to get what is 'legally' yours. The operator's certainly don't seem bothered. Perhaps someone like Martin or Watchdog should be having a closer look at these deals maybe?

    They rely on people either:

    Forgetting to claim
    Misplacing the paperwork
    Getting the claim wrong
    Not bothering to claim
being away on holiday when the appropriate bill arrives
as some billing dates dont easily coincide with claim periods

I read somewhere a while ago that a very high proportion will do one of the above. So lets all of us make sure we dont fall foul of it!

P.S. I belive the proportion that dont claim for the above reasons or others is about 80%! I know crazy isnt it!

That the point it isn't legally yours as you didn't adhere to the contract

However I have to agree with TREVORCOLMAN, I actually came to the board to reply in another thread having just picked up my cheque which could have arrived yesterday from my former address, the cheque is dated 23rd December the postmark 14-01-05 and my claim was sent (recorded) 16th December, so it appears they process them and sit on them. however contract is a two edged sword as mentioned in the other thread

80% Wow, were does that figure come from, I notice they don't mention 'fobbing off' as the OSPS tried with a neighbour I introduced
