My postie laughs at all the parcels i get too. He always says to my hubby i love your wife she keeps me in a job to which he replies she just keeps me too poor to leave. lol. If he gives me the parcels he always says what you bought now not more craft stash . If he hands them to my hubby he says she been spending again mate.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
It's ridiculous how some people read so much in to things. He was just making conversation / bantering. Its normal. He probably thought he was doing you a favour by leaving recorded items at your house because normally something is only sent recorded for the sellers protection, and its just an inconvenience for the buyer if they have to go and collect. If you'd rather have to sign then why didn't you just say that to him like a normal person.0

Love my postie. Shes awesome. I wasnt home, so someone else answered the door, the postie actually went all the way around our(terraced) house. Now thats going out of her way. I do make small talk with her sometimes as well. And she also jokes about the many parcels I get, and when I told her, well unfortunately Im using UPS to send my parcels because its cheaper, she joked that the PO staff are unreliable, though I say different. If RM were economical, then I would definitely be using them instead of parcelbee. I do however send smaller items via RM, though I suppose most of the population will never have heard of resellers and only know of RM and DHL in WHSmiths0

If he says that he's going to throw them on the doorstep instead of getting you to sign for them, why not call his bluff? You could respond (jokingly) "I hope you're joking or else I'll have you out on your ear" or words to that effect. It sounds like that's the kind of tone he's taking, so match it.
That way you're getting the point across with an element of truth in a humorous comment. After all, nobody wants to make enemies with the postman.0 -
We have dogs. They bark as all dogs do. They liked to bark when people came to the door, but they never bite just bark. We had a postman delivering letters for about a week, and one day he put a letter through which he had written on saying "GET RID OF THE DOGS" Well, Im sorry but Im not getting rid of my dogs just because the bloody postman tells me to! Not sure what happened to him but he didnt come after about a week and we got a new postie. We also have less dogs now since my parents moved with theirs. Its now a lot quieter lol. I was so angry though, what right does he have to tell me that! :mad:Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0

No one but the OP actually heard what the postman in question said, but there seem to be an awful lot of people who are convinced that the OP misunderstood. Not sure how anyone could actually know this...0 -
Did you say to him not to leave them on the doorstep? I've found my post lying in the road before, I complained about that to the local office. I'm a delivery driver and wouldn't leave stuff o the doorstep, I'd get asked where the customers signature was if they said they never got it.0

Problem for posties is that they've lost/losing the ability to structure their day that makes the most sense to them.
My postie used to do an early run before 8am where he'd do the SD, RD and other various stuff, then he'd go around again later in the day with all the direct mail crap.
Thing is RM have decided that this is too inefficient, and that postie should only do one run, which means that the RD and SD are now delivered after everyone's gone to work. And they have to take them all back to the sorting office. Much more efficient - not!
Maybe don't blame the postie, maybe blame his boss.0 -
