PLus can someone explain why anyone going straight ahead would go in the left lane, indicate right and then change to indicate left as they leave the roundabout. I see this regularly and wonder why?0

My other half does this on a massive roundabout near the house. He says its to tell drivers on the exits that he is still going round and not leaving yet. It drives me mad as I tell him that people behind are going to think you are going all the way round and will hang back. I do see it all the time and it drives me mad.
The other ones are lack of indicator use, oh and recently was driving to Peterborough from Northampton at about 9pm in driving rain. Wipers were having a tough time trying to keep up with it. Anyway we were on the road and never having driven it before and the conditions meant I was going slower than the NSL. Car behind me right behind me for miles and nowhere to pull over. Went down a massive hill and at the bottom a massive lake, I hit the puddle the same time as the idiot behind me tried to overtake. Cue me nearly losing control of the car with the force of the water, other car aquaplaning and he had been going waay over the limit. He decided it was a good idea to slow down and stay back from then on! If I had been going any faster we probably would have had an accident.Member for a long time only recent poster

To all those who post comps, no wins yet though!0 -
Well the other day a male driver cut me up while using a shaver, and another driver (male, not that I'm sexist in any way) was tailgating and then swerved dangerously in front of another car.
Why can't males drive properly?
Seriously, troll off.
i agree, there are drivers from both sexes who for some reason dont drive like everyone else should, they dont use mirros and cut people cut up when moving out to overtake,
im not a troll though0 -
The worst by far, are those who "think" they know the highway code and sound their horns, give hand gestures or swerve in front you if you do something THEY think is wrong.....
So for the benefit of those people.... I CAN OVERTAKE ON CHEVRONS ALL I F**KING WELL LIKE!!! (but only if they have a broken white line around them!)Highway Code Section 130
Areas of white diagonal stripes or chevrons painted on the road. These are to separate traffic lanes or to protect traffic turning right.
- if the area is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area unless it is necessary and you can see that it is safe to do so
- if the area is marked with chevrons and bordered by solid white lines you MUST NOT enter it except in an emergency

hehehe I recently had this when some moron in a UK reg car followed me until I stopped at some shops and started ranting on about sticking to the speed limit when I was coming down the mountain road, he looked most sheepish when myself and several others informed him we don't have speed limits.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! Can anyone tell me why drivers tailgate a driver who is overtaking a vehicle thats in the midle lane and then move into the left lane to take the upcoming motorway exit, why not just get in the left lane and wait your turn0

Can anyone tell me why so many drivers think they are perfect drivers, my driving instructor told me to treat everyone on the road as a total idiot and eventually you will be proved right. I spend far too much time concentrating on my own driving to sit there critiquing other people0 -
I honestly don't know how many posters are aware of this, but HGVs are all fitted with speed limiters (because the cretins in the EU think it's a good idea). Their speed is limited to 85kph.
However, the vagaries of technology mean that each truck's speed limiter works at a slightly different speed (rarely more than 1 or 2mph and sometimes considerably less). When driving up an incline, the actual speed is also affected by the weight of the load being carried.
This is why trucks can often take quite some time and distance to overtake each other. It's not the driver's fault, simply the ludicrous EU regulations that force this situation onto them.0 -

Thought it was 56 mph,(90kph)!
Then why is it that I have ruddy great artics up my rear when traveling at 80 mph, 129kph,(speedo reading, which is pretty well accurate when timing between the 1 mile motorway phone boxes)?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Sorry - it is the HGV driver's fault for deciding to overtake another HGV who happens to be going 1-2mph slower - prime examples every day on the A1!0
